Crescent 1/12/2014

We had a lot of wind and rain here over night and the temps turned off a little cooler. It was around 9:00 before we hit the water and the wind was howling making 2-3 foot rollers out on the lake. It did start calming down around 11:00 or so and we managed to boat 27 good fish before we came in at 1:00. Quickhook happened to stumble across this one about lunchtime. All but nine fish were released and those nine will be stinking up the grease tonight!!

TNT you can fish off that dock, I caugh two or three right off that dock I stayed at leonard's landing ad the 76 gas sign.

Nice work quickhook and TnT... That was a mighty big fish...any day now we're gonna see a 3 lber out of you guys!

The bite was a little slower this afternoon and we only put 16 in the boat with the biggest being 1 lb 10 oz. For a while the lake was slick then the wind started blowing right out of the East and made it tough, so we quit shortly after 5:00. We still can't slap the grin off of Quickhook's face:Rofl

Wow! if I was Quickhook I would smiling too. What a crappie! Congrats

Today the lake was smooth as a baby's butt until 12:30 or so. We put 31 in the boat and Quickhook continued his streak with a 2 lb 4 oz Slab. All big fish were released and kept a few for the grease....Ready for some good ole fillets!!!

I thought you might say "smooth as a crappie's butt", but I guess either way it works.

Congratulations guys on another good day on the water! Hey TnT is that your boat project boat that ya'll are using? Did you get everything the way you wanted it. I still have a couple minor things on mine to do. Also can't decide where to place rod holders at the back. Did you take pics?

Them's some purdy lookin Specks. makes me want to run the "Hillbilly Delux" Down there. Might have to cheat on Talquin and take my Pop there for our annual trip.

Yep...That's the project boat we are using. Loving it too!!! We are sliming it up real good this week. Here are a couple of more slabs we caught this morning in the rain...2 lb 2 oz and 2 lb 8 oz...Both released to be caught this Saturday!!

Wow!!! nice fish...You Florida anglers are smok'in em down there. Good Job.

We finally made it back home today and I am already having withdrawals!! Quickhook and I tried to figure out just how many fish we caught and how many were over 2 lbs and we just couldn't come up with a number, but it was a lot of them. All fish over 1 1/2 lbs were released and we only kept about 30 or so for Quickhook to restock his empty freezer. I am guessing between the 2 of us, we boated 25 +/- over 2 lbs. The largest was right at 16 inches long and weighed 2 lbs 11 oz, followed by 2 - 2 1/2 lbers. This was absolutely the best trip I have ever been on. Talquin Maggie and I had so much fun we are already planning another week long trip down there next year. The week started off great with the Slabtogether and it was great to see everyone there. A special "Thanks" to Speckanator and his wife, Susan, for helping me out with some personal business that I had to come up while I was down there. They took us in their home, Susan helped me with my business and then they fed us lunch. Crappie.com folks are the best!!!

Now that your back home which lake do you fish on in Georgia? Also great catch and I can see why so many people fish in those Fla slab lakes. I'll be there one of these days when I retire. Great report!!!!!!

I will fish most any lake in GA, but I do most of my fishing at Lake Talquin.

Talquin and Crescent, they are hard to beat. I'll be at both again next year the good lord willing.
