Yep. Blk/chart, orange/chart, red/chart, chartreuse, chartreuse, chartreuse!
If you don't speak fishun, they are talking about GREEN!!!
I like orange. Chart is good but orange is always gonna be on the head, body, or tail.
Orange/chart. And black/chart. are 95% all i will fish with. If im single pole fishing its gotta be a hair jig

What size and can you go to big ? I was shocked at the size of the minnows we got last year , but they worked , never got a limit , but caught fish . Thank You all for the info ..
Big is good in the south on any of the big 4
I prefer 1/8 or 1/4 but i have went bigger
1/8 oz with 1/0 and 1/4 oz with 2/0.

I use orange jig head mostly. Sardis White/Chartreuse and Blue/Chartreuse bodies are hard to beat. I'm a big fan of Mid-South tackle and get the super jigs. People make a big deal out of the size but if you check out some of the shad crappie eat, I guarantee they suck up a lot bigger than any jig you'll buy. JMO.
Bigger heads and Bigger minners on those lakes in the chocolate will catch ya fish in the spring.
Lead head sickle 1/8 no color. Orange/Chart jig.= Thump!!!
I always try orange and Chart stuff. I've done good on brown ( Punkin seed) and chart also.
BTW, I use Southern Pro tubes, and really like the BIG Capps and Coleman glow stuff. I've tried em all tho. If you have the right color combo, the brand probably doesn't matter so much. They all make good tubes.
Pumpkin Seed is hard to beat
Tipped with a minner helps all of them.
I know there are folks, used to be one of them, that say "if they can be caught I can catch em without a minner."
I have never seen jigs out fish minners, seen it when it was pretty much the same but I have seen time and time again when a minner would catch when a straight jig wouldn't. I also realise that there a places its a lot easier to fish straight jigs as well.
Rees u must not know how to shake it right. Certain times of the year i catch them 3 to 1 on a straight jig
My thought on that petie28 is to start with what you have the most confidence in, and let the fish fine tune your thinking. My partner and I won the C.C FJ Championship on straight jigs, but for me that's highly unusual as I hardly ever use straight jigs. The speed we went was the reason we didn't use jigs with minners.
