Waited until the duck hunters left. Then i went to the middle of the lake and started bouncing my 1/4 oz silver & yellow jig off the bottom.Picked up some 15 nice fish. The males are starting to change color, look out spawn.Attachment 147390

you da man Fisherman.........
did you just know where to go???or did you find underwater structure with the fish finder??nice catch...almost went out there last sat.but was scared I'd get shot at..
Wow! I have high admiration for anyone who can catch at Lake Martin. I wrote that place off cause it whipped me so many times. Now it moves from "wrote off" to "nearly wrote off" for me.
it's just too pretty a place to not go a couple times a year....it whooped me twice last year.....
Fisherman you did better than most that for sure. Congrats on a nice catch.

The water is low so the fish don't have many deep holes to hide. So i started at a duck blind and then bounced my jig along the bottom to the next blind. The fish weren't stacked up. There is some old duck blind structure down there, you just have to look for it with a jig.
duck blind structure....meaning around the duck blinds or where duck blinds used to be......
I used work with a gentlman who has a duck blind in Lake Martin. They typically hunt until around 9:30 or 10:00. I may be wrong, but I think they have a sign at the landing that says something along the lines of no fishing until after 12:00 during duck season. I know they did at one time, but not sure if it's enforeced any. I think its just a courtesy thing.
Seriously considering Lake Martin for tomorrow. Been a year since I tried.
Nice catch Fisherman, you do all this damage single pole fishing???
I enjoy the fell of the bump or see the cork go down. I't not a meat thing with me, but i will fish as long as they want to bite. There,s no going back tomorrow and expecting them to still be there.Best advice i have is remember to fish everything you never know where the next bite will come from. HTH
