Need some info on where the bite is at......
Might try the latest fishing reports posted. You probably are not going to get much more current than that. :)
woud not have posted it if there was some!!!!!
With an attitude like that you are probably not going to get much help. Lets keep it friendly.
always just looking for some insiders...no attitude here. thanks
Good to see you post up Out. With most the lakes covered over with ice fishing is slim pickens. I have heard a rumor though that most of good info on here gets sent via PM to those who share where they are catching them. Those who give… get… :)
3 years 25 post not much sharin the wealth imo
Due to the ice, there isn't much being caught that I know of. El Dorado lake was open for a few hours on the 1st and we caught some around the tower. Winds came on strong around 10:30 and we had to get off the lake. The next day, the lake was locked up. Going to KAW, OK for the fish now. Might want to look into that or Wolf Creek... Hope this helps.
Wolf Creek the only open water, IMHO the ice is questionable so ice fishing is out for me. Been hitting some pay to fish docks. Lots of shorts but not much else. Headed to Oolagah next Monday if weather coops.
Caught a few through the ice last Saturday at Banner Creek. 15 to 17 FOW using a minnow near the top of the brush. Bit good for a little while then the wind blew us off the lake. Only kept about 5 crappie. Ice was maybe about 8" thick. That's all I know. Good luck!
I haven't ever looked for crappie at the lacygne power plant lake. (has anyone?) If it isn't frozen, maybe try there?
I like to use the fishing forecast found on KDWP fishing page to find lakes that hold good numbers of crappie. Even that doesn't show all of locations cause not all lakes get sampled every year. This could be useful to you assuming you weren't wanting exact locations of where to fish.
sorta pompous & arrogant wantabee, just sayin. is there a secret pmfraternity under the message board? if so, what privileged criteria must one possess to qualify. who are the administration officers? will the hazing be compliant with KS civil and criminal law? i'm curious!
No I think it's fairly straight forward. Those who post off and on have made a lot of friends on here and fish together, no admin officer needed just making friends. Those who don't share there is nothing wrong with that at all but I would guess they don't get a lot of the other invites and trips. It doesn't make it right or wrong (or civil or criminal) but I think an awesome sight like this shows you get a lot more out of if when you put something into it, that just my personal experience. I guess i am lucky that I have made a ton of friends from the website and have been lucky enough to fish with 15 or 20 of them and meet 20 more all the while learned a ton and I try to post up when I can but there are something better left unsaid for a few days. Wannabe was not being Pompous or arrogant like you where, he was just posting a fact that friends share things on here that most would not see. You catch more flies and crappie with honey not vinegar. That's my 2 cents didn't mean to ruffle some of your feather with my first post.
Good luck out there.
Nick
my observations have manifest into a self fulfilling prophecy.
fratboys to the rescue.
Hee this is getting funny and is what happens in the winter when guys can't fish as much. Reminds me of when looking at hunting forums and some out of stater goes hey which piece of public ground can I hunt on while on my weekend trip to Ks that has some good Boone & Crockett class bucks. There is no way to make someone understand if they don't get it at this point.
There are a few under the ice at perry rock creek arm. I went Thursday and today, took off work just to get in some ice fishing while we have ICE. I spend a fair amount of time and work marking spots on a good hand held GPS. Other lakes where putting out better fish than Perry this year.
Way to go flint, looks like you had a good time! Fishing beats work any day.
Has anyone heard an update on the ice at glen elder? I knew last time I was up there were a few open spots but avoiding those it was safe! Is this still the case? Or should it be completely avoided? Any info would be greatly appreciated and I will post an update if it's safe enough to try. And also any word if the whites had moved back west of the kausway again? They've seamed to be non-existant since early ice back there.. Although I did land a 7.5 pound wiper!! Thankyou for any advice:)
Am gonna need those GPS coordinates in a PM of course!
Okay well looks like that's a wrap for this years ice fishing unless someone has other news I appreciate the response! Saves a lot of gas
It's going to be bad for ice starting now till who knows. Will it come to an end? Might get another polar vortex and refreez afte the ice settles. Ice was 10" thick west of DJ 's and turning to slop fast on top with the snow we had.
I'll get them coordinates out in a secrete file:biggrin
Thanks for the info!!!!! it all helps..an good luck to all fishing this cold winter... If i find fish ill let u no!!! fish about as much as i can if the wife lets me lol . 5 times a month.. just post an we will fish where ther biting!!!

I hit Marion and prolly 10 other places this weekend nothing my old man caught a nice bass from our honey hole in wichita but that was it other then catching a windy cyclone
Nice to see a Kansas following, mostly fished NE Oklahoma, Bombthreat he's ok, I know I raised him, don't really know how to get around the site yet, course we don't do it on a "professional"basis. We re weekend worriors, and its flustrating, when you don't know the lakes. We re experimenting course its not easy when you don't have your own "willows" out, but any imformation is a success andall newbies are most welcome to tocontact me me, well figure it out........
Hey flint on you sled setup does that fish finder work thru the ice? Or is that something you gotta pop a hole stop take a look then move on? How's it work?
Its just a bottom line I got for my canoe but it works well in the ice holes for a cheap unit.
Nice I wanna do some ice fishing this next year unless we catch some this year again
Like put alcohol in a bowl or something? Then read thru the ice?
Found some pics from last year figured I'd throw em up
