Did not know they had one. I also would like any info. In the past Eureka lake has had some good crappie fishing.
Its up by the dam but I've never been in it or know anything about it
I didnt know they had one. Have wanted to give Eureka a shot for a couple years. May have to make a trip down there and give it a try.
Drive across the damn and it's on the south east corner of the lake. Tight lipped group down there and they don't talk to strangers all that much but it's a lot like Marion County, can be good, can be bad but lots of shorts.
Is it usually pretty busy?
Can't speak for the crowd but as Duckman stated above be prepared to catch a lot of very small crappie. I talked to one of the caretakers last year and he mentioned they took out a ton of the small ones over the winter trying to improve the size but last time I fished there you can catch all the 4-6" crappie you care to. I don't think I caught a crappie over 9".
need about 10 blues and 10 flatheads in there
Sounds like how Marion county used to be with the dinks. Springhill there are flatheads in there and some giants!
Does anyone know how much it cost and is it open 24 hrs a day?
I didn't fish Eureka much last year but the fish size has been running pretty small. Its been a good five years or so since Fish and Game bought out the local city lake permit and made it a free (with license) fishing lake..The heated dock is free but I think it only sits in about 8 feet of water..There is a fish feeder that is put in for catfish, out about 35 yards off the N.W. corner of the dock..The feeder goes in in April..They need to stock more walleye and get the crappie under control..No 10 inch limits but the daily 50 is in effect..Keep the small ones..Good luck and good fishing!
Never have fished Eureka, went to Marion they were catching a few old timers were but then they know the tricks, probably Eureka next week to explore any news is good news, Iwonebback
