Have noticed that some say to hook minnows through eyes . I hook them through the lower lip . Is this a ford/Chevy thing or a reason or situation that this matters ?

Single poling I always hook thru the bottom lip.I think it looks more natural, but i'm gonna try hooking thru the eyes while trolling this year. Some swear by it.
I hook them thru the eyes. Always have, no real reason other than that's how my pops always did
It's a ford/chevy thing!
I do it both ways, but mostly through the eyes.
Hooked thru the eyes they will not get knocked off as easy.....also when hooked thru the eyes they flutter trying to get straight and that movement attracts fish.
What G said. I do it both ways
When you get busy the eyes are faster.
Best way is where they will stay on good. I always put the hook through the lips. But after having a guy catch more then I did and his was throught the eye's. Well I swapped and still got beat.:dono
When I'm spidering they seem to stay alive longer and don't drown from being pulled through the water as fast. When i single pole I hook a bunch of ways.Under the bottom near back fin to make him swim up, Behind the top fin to make him swim down, through the eyes if in thick stuff and don't pull off too easy, and through the lips. I try different things and let the fish tell me what they want!Just my:twocents
I hook thru both lips
I've hooked minners both ways, but it seems they slide off the hook more when through the eyes. I hook em in the lips as you know. Ford/Chevy tho.
