Looks like an average fish to me. Dude has his arms stretched way out toward the camera and the mouth isn't near as big as some of the 2 1/2 lb fish I catch.

mouth not closed and not against the end of the board. 18 inches at best. nice fish but not close to 5 pounds. must have been the same folks that certified the arky record crappie.

I hear you bud, fish stories. But more likely than the Loch Ness Monster,Bigfoot,yeti,Chaupacabra. But just barely. In the fisherman's defense,someone else made the guess of weight,not him.

World record my butt
I have caught 18" and even 18 1/2" crappie before and they didn't come close to 5 pounds. Over 3 pounds yes, but over 4 is iffy at best.
I am new to photoshoping and it is easy to do with a program......... no way that photo is real, not saying the guy didn't catch a nice one, but this pic of him hurt the image of a big crappie......
