I finally found a few fish. I was lucky enough to notice some boats off of I-10 on my way home from the Hollidays and I finally got a chance to go try em out. I can finally rest now with a few slabs in the freezer for the new year.

Gone..
did you fish yesterday or the day before? Was wondering if the water was rising n the lake? U fishing the piling s?
I fished Monday evening and Tuesday morning. The water was falling Monday and moving pretty descent. The water wasn't moving at all Tuesday, and according to the gauges, it is on the rise now. Yes I was on the pilings...
GF.....welcome to the forum and nice catch.......I was there Tuesday morning on the piling also.....what kind of boat were you in.....
Good job. Thanks for the info on where you caught. What bait?
Thanks for the info g.f.; looks like u r n that same category as j.b. and fisherman....u know what u r doing!

hey sacalait da....you lost your setting in your location....or maybe you meant too......and I haven't seen you get skunked lately......you may go more than you post but if not...you know what you're doing as well......
I was shiner fishing 8-11 ft deep in 15-18 ft of water. Got lucky really, I'm kind of a green thumb on sacalait, was a die hard bass fisherman for years, but I'm starting to wise up nowadays. Sacalait fishin suites my personality much better. I'm just fortunate that sacalait fisherman are so kind with info. It was pretty easy to pick up on what was going on out there with the friendly crowd. The duck hunters were all pretty friendly idling by and such, but there was one bass fishin arse whole who gunned his motor right up next to my boat and took off....
sacalait fisherman are the best and the most generous as well as patient.......Gf, seems to be the same pattern that Pshiners was fishing....it'll be interesting to see how long it will hold out.shiners on plain hooks??
Yea Fishervet...the maringouin bayou area that I was fishing until early December is now high and muddy! I'm thinking of maybe trying Jack Millers soon...but u guys have me thinking hard about trying henderson. I'm a little concerned about the rising water though! I have have done pretty well this time of the year back in the bayou and lake fordoche area.
So...i thank you and the rest of the guys for your posts...when i can't fish the next best thing is reading about u guys catching!
Sac-a-lait D.A.,
I tried Jack Millers before I went to Henderson Monday. I only fished the bayou. The water was pretty good near the levee, but I couldn't figure them out. I caught one on a shiner about 4 feet deep. He was a real monster about 13.5 inches. I know their out there with all the shad splashing everywhere and the water color a nice stain to it. I just haven't been able to get on em out there. Let me know if you pick some up out there.
