Finally got a "kill shot" on film!
and of course it was with a muzzleloader at 80 yds with next to no light! I think the best part about the video (and about deer hunting) is the range of emotions you can go through. Being my last hunt and without a kill this year, I needed to shoot something, I let 6 does walk and disappear into the field, I was kicking myself for not taking what was probably my last opportunity. Then I heard something else coming and saw horns, the buck ran out and stopped just quick enough to put his head in the scope and see he was well outside the ears, then find my spot and shoot. He disappeared into the woods, and I got down after dark to search for blood. It was unbelievably dark and I couldn't find any blood, although I thought I heard him crash. I went home thinking something must have went wrong, and driving in the next morning I'm clearly downtrodden. Well the rest is pretty self-explanatory. He was by no means the "monster" he became in my mind overnight as I'd convinced myself I'd missed, but on my last hunt, I'll take him! Now I can concentrate on fishing!http://youtu.be/tQ2N_OtJPSs
