I quit..
Give up not going to do it anymore.nonono Anyone with a new back for sale? :banghead It stinks when your not fishing because of pain. Doctor has had me on enough pain pills the last few years to kill a Crappie:yikes Its doing somewhat of its job. But sure keeps you from doing anything. They did tell us good news, I had a 70% chance of not walking again if I let them screw with my back again. So 30% chance I would not be in a wheel chair. But been thinking even in a wheel chair if I'm not hurting so bad I can't get around. It may be better than now. Could fish out of my boat with help in a wheel chair.:biggrin
It just sucks to be able to fish 4 or 5 days a week. But can't because of the pain. Or just will not take a chance on driving for the meds. Buddy of mine came and hooked the boat up a few weeks back. Showed up and took me to the lake. Loved it. But man it sucks....
Sorry will get off my pity party . You would think after being disabled for getting close to 19 years. It would not get to you. But man what I would give to be able to work again. Go fishing and not hurt. Or just have a normal life. Guys and Gals do not take it for granted.
Happy New Years and may every crappie be a keeper.

sorry to hear that.....prayers sent for you

Shiloh, hurt my back a week ago by lifting some metal I bought. Didn't look that heavy. Guess I'm getting old. Took about a week of Meds and heating pad. I couldn't imagine being that way for life. It was miserable. If ya ever want somebody to take you give me a hollar.
Lost my dad Labor Day weekend, best fishing buddy ever. There were a lot of times he couldn't go fishing bc of his back pain. Worked hard all his life and retired and went down hill in three years, never able to enjoy his retirement due to his lungs and back.
A long story short, we should all enjoy everyday as though it is our last fishing trip.

Sorry to hear about that. Back problems are absolutely terrible. I hear way too many of these stories. And with a bad back myself, I dread the day that I can't fish because of it. I feel terrible for you. Hopefully there will be a day it turns around for the better for you.

Being in a boat in rough water probably wreaks havoc on an already bad back. Sorry for your pain

Saying a prayer for you Pete.

I had a friend that went pain free for 3 yrs. after a block.Mine was the 4th lumbar vertebrae. It did serious nerve damage to my left leg and foot.I'm praying God will give you relief!

Know the feeling I take enough pain med to knock a horse out and it doesn't phase it.Was told if I had spine surgery I had a good chance of not waking up.Working on some new meds sure hope they work.

ShilohRed, I don't feel that you were complaining as much as reaching out. Let us pray for you and that will help. I for one, have a lot of pain at times. Mostly arthritis and pain from old injuries. I still get to fish, but after rough water days, I feel it for the next few days. I wish I could take away enough of yours, so you could have a fishing trip. God bless you and if you have hung in for 19 years, you are man enough to hang in for more. I believe God only deals out the tough stuff to those that can take it.

Couldn't have said it any better than that dp. Amen and prayers sent.

I have had back problems for many years myself. My L4 and L5 are both bad. I was lucky to find a great chiropractor that has kept me from having to have surgery. I still have some issues from time to time but I am able to do most things that I want including fishing. You may want to try to find you a chiropractor in your area and try it before surgery. It has worked for me and I just wanted to pass the info along to anyone else that it might help. I wish you the best.

Just do what I do when I can't fish....pick out somebody here and smack em up side the head and make fun of em. I can't say it helps any, but it does make me giggle. And giggling is good for the soul. I suggest G. He's an excellent whipping boy and could really use tuning up more often.
Hope your pain eases and your not as done as you think you are.

Guy's thanks and prayer is the best. God does answer them may not be in the way or time we want. But he hears them and sure will answer them in his way.
I have had 2 surgerys both failed. Back pain is not that big of an issue, its both legs and feet that is killer. Thinking I have had 22 nerve blocks over the years. Some helped but the last 5 did more damage then good.
chiropractor Been going to one for over 12 years. I was in a wheel chair when I started going to him. With in a month he had me back walking. I go from 3 times per week to one time per week. They have been on vacation the last 2 weeks. That is one reason its been so bad. This am got in and he put needles in my back and stuff. Feel some better can stand up and move some now.
Thanks for everyone letting me get this on my chest. It helps at times to just say it out loud. That is what has me going today. I will not give up. But man days like the last 5 makes you wonder. The last few months been taking Oxycontin 80 MG a day and fast acting pain meds also.
Again thanks for the prayers.
Pete
