You might try to buy some 1/2' drip tubing ($10 from Home Depot 100') and cut holes in the 5" pipe like this picture and cement them down. Just an idea.

I usually use the 5" stuff as a trunk and add limbs with the 1 7/8".
Those are GOOD ! 1 "suggestion": run a couple of curved pieces of well secured (zip ties?) PVC tubing across the top of the block to help stabilize it in case it gets snagged; these "out riggers" will help keep it upright...note the orange 1s have this feature `built in`...
thanks guys now I can get to work!!!!!!!
You can also use the 5" as a main pole and place wood, branches, boo, or tree tops around it or in it.
I think 4 ft pieces of the 1/2 inch. You can buy a 100 ft roll of the drip tubing from Lowes for $10.
Think I'm gonna try this
Dropping them into a submerged creek channel or on the deep side of a natural lay down tree might produce "interesting" results...
I have some 1/2" gray and opaque tubing that my plumber son-in-law says is useless. You want it, I have it when we can meet.
Looking good, sir !
Get him to start a pile of his scarp. I will be glad to run over and pick up a truck load. And give you the GPS spots of where it will be here.
I bought 800 sticks of 1/2",3/4 and 1" PVC pipe at a deal. We use some of it for our company. But about half is going into crappie beds. I take a 3" or 4" or even 6" pipe drill holes through it and push the smaller pipe in it. Cross and offset the next piece. Works great along with concreting the big pipe in a block. I can load up the boat and people don't see the beds. Put them together on the water and its all good.

Have 7 of the above on this creep bend in Yellow creek.

I use a rope to drop mine, and only after its sitting upright and where I want it. Will I drop one end of the rope and pull all the rode back into the boat. Bigger PVC drill a pair of holes in the top to run the rope through. The rest I put an eyebolt in the block to use the rope on. Also take a 2 liter coke bottle with the top on it. Wire this to the top of the beds and it keeps it standing up better.
Pete
what happen to the old sinking tree limbs. too much plastic going into these lake that we will pay for later or shall I say our grandkids will???
Modern PVC is basically `mid term`(75-100 yr) biologically and chemically designed to be `inert` simply due to it`s intended uses. (Am NOT saying ALL plastic is or is not ) And YES, mixed in with natural LONG LASTING `natural` cover, the 2 tend to work VERY WELL together !
