Mine says "Lifetime". One of the benefits of being a geezer! $15 fishing & hunting for as long as I am able. But the rest of ya pony up the dollars!:biggrin
Mine says Lifetime also, but was $760 more then yours
Mine has said "Lifetime" for the last three decades. A good investment.
p.s. while I have a Kansas lifetime hunting license I wasn't smart enough to get the fishing as well.
I have a South Carolina lifetime "Sportsman License" which covers all hunting and fishing and game management areas. Everything except duck stamps. $9 for us old poots who can't do a lot of the stuff covered.
One of the few benefits of old age
We do have a young female governor who proudly posted on Twitter her new Beretta pistol her husband gave her for Christmas. She has a CCP to boot.
I plan on getting a lifetime fishing in 2014. Don't hunt so not worried about that side.
Mine says lifetime combo. My folks had the foresight to buy it for me a long time ago. $125.00
My lifetime combo cost $225 and I bought one for my son when he was 5. He is now 38. It has been a good investment
The last material gift my grandad gave me before his passing was an OK combination license, same cost that Redge's 125.00 I was 16.
I purchased a 5 yr.for $88. Then I will be eligible to buy what I call a rest of your lifetime combo for only $25. !! :cheers2
My uncle, many years ago, quail hunted most of the day on 1/1 with the game warden. Realized that night he didn't have his new one, and went and got it early the next morning. That evening he saw his friend the warden. He said "Hey, I hunted with you yesterday and I didn't even think to check you license. Let me see it." My uncle laughed and showed it to him. The warden realized he had gotten his license that day and said "Dangit I could have written you a ticket yesterday and I missed my chance." He bought a lifetime shortly after. Him and my aunt got me mine when I was 12. We figured it was paid for in tags by the time I was 16.
In January 1995, the lifetime fishing license went from $125 to $150. My wife decided to get me one for Christmas before the price increase. She took my drivers license out of my wallet (and I drove around all day without one), took it to the wildlife dept in Tulsa, and got mine. Guess she saved me $25. Just wish the fish knew I have one, and they might cooperate more than they do. By the way, I have NEVER been checked for a fishing license.
That's funny crappie bob, I have had my license checked 2 times in my whole life !! A couple if us were discussing the lack of being checked just the other day.
I was "sorta" checked one time. "Sorta" because the ranger was in his boat about 25 yds away. I held up my license, and without any binoculars or anything, he said "Okay, thank you". Guess he had excellent vision!
But then I do have a very honest looking face! :biggrin
WW one time the GW pulled up and asked to see our licenses, we pulled them out, all lifetime licenses. Boy he was smiling, he said I don't even have to come over and check the dates!!
I've been checked several times while hunting but only a couple of times fishing. The last was several years ago when I was in my boat at 10Killler. Ike was asleep on the floor of the boat. He didn't get too excited about fishing. A couple of game wardens (one older, one real young) had been sitting in another boat watching me through binoculars for about 10 minutes. I caught a Bass and they came over to my boat. I always just pull my license out when I see them coming. As they came up on the boat the younger one reached over to hold the boats together. Ike, without looking up, growled ever so slightly. The older one said "He's good."
Good dog. My boxer would have chewed his hand off!
ROFL Ikeni!!
I have been checked by a GW probably 40 times, hmmm...makes me wonder if I look guilty or something since so many of you never get checked or have only got checked a few times. I have been checked on Blackwell numerous times, Keystone a couple times, Kaw lake several times and 3 or 4 times on the Arkansas River, and that's just in the last couple of years.
Remind me when I go fishing with you SC to make sure I have my license!!! Guilt by association is what I am thinking. Just sayin
LOL
X2......Ranger
The only time I've been checked fishing was while snagging and that's happened several times over the years. Been checked by the Feds a few times while duck hunting but that's it.
Since 1980, checked twice duck hunting,(opening day of 2 different seasons), twice fishing, both times were on Thunderbird I'm guessing around 06-07. In my years of fishing mainly Eufaula, numerous times game wardens went by but never stopped to check.
