Already or looking at purchasing it. I was not aware of it but have been researching it all afternoon. I set on structure a lot or use the spot lok feature on the i pilot a lot . I see this as a feature that could come in real handy.how is it working and are you using front or back mounting. Thnx Lee
I will be watching this, I too have been thinking about the 360. Hate to spend the money, but it makes sense for how I fish!! I definitely want to use the 360 on the TM.

Kosmo has one, his is on the transom tho. Think I would rather have mine there as well if I were to get one. Done alot of research too and think it could be handy for sure. My thing is that they dont make it to mount to a PD or Terrova type motor plus with it at the rear I can do some idleing around scanning before getting on the front of the boat. Wanting new electronics and the spotlitescan from Lowrance looks to be a pain to operate.
Rees I'm thinking transom mount also. I like to fish from diff spots on the boat when I'm single poling . I can control the I pilot from anywhere. FWB got my wheels turning...LOL
Not sure on this but with the Ethernet network, I think you could watch the 360 up front or at the consol. Maybe Kosmo will chime in in this aspect.

Looks like everything is being built for a cable drive which makes no sense to me, we (Terrova owners) spend more on trolling motors than anyone else why would they not build the higher price other stuff for us too?

Found Kosmo on another forum and some real good info over there. Even found a video on a guy that uses the 360 to look under docks. That is exactly what I'm looking for . If this technology is dependable it's a no brainier. Gonna keep gathering info on these systems then make a decision. Thnx for the input

That's one of the selling points. You not have to be moving. You can watch the fish as they move around or load up on structure.
I had thought that to have the 360 you had to have a pole on the back that dangled below the boat. I could see me tearing that thing off in the spring time. But I was in the bass pro yesterday and they had one for the TM. Course I have a Terova and it looks like it wouldn't work for that but.... Do they have one for the transm that doesn't hang so low?
It's retractable when your moving. But you would have to be careful with it.
If I was going to get one I'd go with trolling motor type and get with Rickie on one of these to mount it on.

I don't want the trolling motor type myself. The transom mount isn't that big of an issue as far as hitting stuff, would more than likely hit more stuff with it up front. Too with the big motor running you can scan and mark stuff without even getting out from under the console.
If you have I pilot you can sit at console also and mark stuff. I like the tramsom mount too
I wouldn't mind the transom mount, more money though. Also at first I think they were having deployment / retraction issues. Hopefully that is all cleared up, and I could be remembering wrong! Kosmo is yours a transom mount?
You are rite Redge, bet finding bream beds in deeper clear water will be handy too.

Nope, I would drive 4 hours one way to get in the boat with someone who has one in a heartbeat.

KVD was largely responsible for them coming out with the trolling motor mount...guess he did a full court press on them to get what he wanted with that. The images aren't as clear as SI, but I would sure love to have one.....may have to work a few extra monthes after I plan to retire to save money for one.
To me, it seems that the transom mount would be the best, especially with the offset feature they have in the software now....I do wonder why KVD was so determined to get one on the trolling motor.

BobB I tend to agree on the retraction being fixed, haven't seen anything about it lately! I did send Kosmo a PM, he must be on vacation at the moment.

another point to support your ideals on transom mount vs trolling motor. when I first got my 360 I was planning to design my own tm mount but after using it a few times I realized the transom mount may be best. The reason is if you vertical fish (with spider rig) over structure like I do you can see the structure better if it was on the tm you would have what has been referred to as the black hole to deal with. note from pics that what's directly under the transducer is not as easy to see.
I have a 20 ft boat and fish 16 ft poles so my jig is about 35ft from the 360. It wasn't very hard to figure out from the 20ft grid lines on the screen where your jig is.
plus small or short structure will show a shadow from distance and will not from directly over it.
Kcg it sounds like your 360 is working out good for you. Any things ou do not like about it so far?
I am getting RF interference from TM since the 360 was hooked up, that's irritating but still working with hummingbird on that. I was disappointed that its not as clear as side scan especially identifying fish but it is an awesome tool for structure.
every time I us it I'm more amazed at the amount of structure their is only a matter of feet from places I've fished for years and never knew it was there.
I am still learning to set it for different situations such as hard bottom or mud. Hoping with more use I will learn to set it (or understand what its showing me) to follow or find fish.
Finding structure and staying on it is not a problem and pretty good tool to for trolling ledges as well.
Tell us more about your RF interference. Seems kind of odd to be picking up RF noise from the trolling motor 20 feet away on the transom.
It didn't start until I added the 360 which included the 5 port Ethernet terminal. before I had a 1198 and 898 connected buy Ethernet using same TM. Have been over 6 months talking with Humminbird and trying different things.
Trolling motor is not connected in any way (no transducer, deferent batteries, wireing for each on separate sides of boat)
Started by setting the units to HIGH
next we put ferrit rings on both Ethernet cables at the unit and at the 5port switch
next we disconnected the on board charger from batteries when in use
next we installed a TM choke
I bought the heaviest extention cord I could find and ran to each unit and shrink tape every joint
Now Humminbird says talk to my TM manufacture (Motor Guide) Instead I ordered a MinnKota HA HA I'll show them:biggrin (I'm in so deep now just as well add the Ilink)
I don't know anything about how the 5 port switch works but would like to try another just to see if it has something to do with it.
But waiting for the new trolling motor hoping it cures the problem
