I am not sure but I sure would appreciate some pics once you get on the water with it, been looking at em hard but think I want the transom mount.
i looked up the instructions and it dosent mention a 3rd wire for the power
I know that is the confusing part. It has two black wires and one red.
My transom mounted 360 has only two wires
I wonder if it's ground to TM skeg...for RFI...??
(Test OHMs across the 2 black wires maybe)...
Rickie
I'd give the customer support folks a call on that one.
When you get it all mounted up can you post a photo of exactly how it mounts to the TM shaft?!
it said one is the drift wire and to tape it in the instructions
24&25
I did talk to a humming bird rep. The lady indicated that you use the black and red wire only. It was not an extra ground or anything. The connector plug has three terminals I it too. I documented it all in case smoke comes out. If I find out differently will let you know. Knappy.
On the top of page 25 of the 360 Imaging Trolling Motor install guide it tells you to:
6. Tape the drain wire.
This is the second black wire (actually is a bare wire with heat shrink on it). I think that Rickie is correct in that it is for RFI if needed.
