My oldest boy is in a pitching camp at MSU tomorrow. The twins and I will be down there with nothing to do. Any suggestions? Must do for lunch? I know I'm going to have to go by and get me a block of cheese, if they are open on weekends.

If you are still there around dinner time go to the Veranda and try the Mardi Gras pasta! It is fine. If you want a good burger for lunch either Mug Shots or Christys will be hard to beat. Christys place doesn't look fancy but they have good burgers and stuff.
Btw if you like the Edam cheese, try ya a small block of the mild cheddar, IMO it's way better than the Edam.
I like my cheddar with a little funk to it...sharp or extra sharp please!
The sharp is excellent also
Y'all like it to smell like toe jam. Lmao
X2 on the Veranda, it's one of my favorite places. Try the crispy duck, it's great. Harvey's is a must try if you've never been before, broccoli bites for an appetizer and a Cajun prime rib for an entre', you have to ask for it, last time I was there it wasn't on the menu but they have it. I think I had a 16oz med. rare. The Grill is a great place also, It was always best for a lunch time place but I hear the menu has changed and they have a good dinner menu now. I just haven't had the chance to try the new menu yet. Hope this helps.
You only live once Feelay. It ain't that bad on your wallet, my wife and I can eat at the Veranda or Harvey's for about $75.00.-$90.00. That's an appetizer, a couple drinks, salad, entre', and desert. Like I said the other day.... Life is too short for bad food, cheap liquor, or mean women.
Oh man.... Get some of that muskeedine ice cream . That's the bomb !!!
I hear ya brother, I'm sure I would be the same way in your situation. When I was their age I had a hollow leg and could eat 3 Big Macs and ask for more, and that's back when Big Macs was a big burger. I got a good idea for ya. Go to Old Venice pizza co. on Main Street. You can feed them younguns all kinds of pasta and pizza there and still get a nice meal for you and the little lady.
May do it, thanks. The "little lady" is in Nashvegas Christmas shopping. Just the boys and me this weekend. The twins are 16 and 6' 4" with two long hollow legs each!
Rosey Baby is good, it's on S. Jackson
We decided on Q at Little Dooey's. Was pretty good but kinda pricey for smoked butt.
So.... You went somewhere that nobody recommended and are a little disappointed. Their is always next time.
Petty's is much better Q and not near as expensive. It's just a little stand on hwy 12 but most good BBQ joints are.
It was recommended by a friend who was down there for graduation. We were hungry and it was close. Was really good but the portions were small for $12 a head.
Pettys is the almost the best Q ever, the shack at Ocean Springs was prolly the tastiest I ever had at a Q joint.
Hahaha! Not DD...but I would take a food recommendation from him, one of the few things I would trust his judgement on. I've had Mugshots before and the boys didn't want Italian. Didn't really know where anything else was.
Mapquest, will take you anywhere dude!
how did your son do at the camp?
Ooops, to late. Still....... Mugshots downtown. Best hamburger I have ever eaten. There are others, but the Starkville Mugs has always been my favorite!
dang I am late Harveys by far the best food in Starkvegas imo
