Newbie from VA
Greetings everyone out in Crappie.com land! Im VA Ladyfins from Norfolk, VA. I am ready to learn anything i can about catching Crappie. My son (8yrs old) and I love to fish. We watch alot of youtube video's on freshwater fishing. I think Crappie fishing is a great way to start our fresh water fishing venture. I dont have a boat so we will be fishing mainly from the bank. My son is dying to go on a boat, but i told him we can catch fish on the bank too. I recently found a place to fish "Bob's fishing hole". I really like that place. I also fish on JEB Little Creek "Lake Bradford". We've only caught a few small fish there with night crawlers. I can't wait to catch me some Crappie and fry them up! Everyone says they taste really good.

VALADYFINS, you sound a lot like me! I'm a lady from Chesapeake and I'm also new to freshwater fishing. Like you, I do not have a boat, I'm dying to catch some Crappie, and I just picked up my fishing pass for JEB last week so I may see you around Lake Bradford, too. I fished at Bob's once - only baby Bluegills would bite, but will be going back there, Oak Grove Lake Park, Greenbrier ponds by the townhouses, and Lake Prince in Suffolk (again)! I also watch a LOT of Youtube fishing videos. This year, I've started to learn to fly fish - so watch out for my flies - should I be bold enough to try in actual water. Who knows, I may get lucky and get my husband and daughters to come fishing with me! Tight lines to you and your son!! DoBee

Hey DoBee! Im happy to know its other ladies out there who love to fish! The weather is beginning to warm up a bit so I will be getting out more to the lakes and trying different jigs and worms. Ollies had a sale on worms and a whole lot of fresh water stuff so I stocked up on worms and spinner baits. Im excited and ready to try them out. I may see you soon!
