Rear seat 11ft. Ozark. !!! Jig pole.
I have a bucks with the rear seat and love it. I never tried the others but the bucks is like holdin a feather
Depends on the situation, out of the boat an 11 foot Sam Heaton is hard to beat unless I am the second man then a 12 footer. If I am wading then a fairly stiff 10 or 11 foot pole is what i want to get em out ot the brush and if I am walking a creek bank I want a 16 foot BGJP, I know it sound crazy but ask Goodtime how well it works.:biggrin
For single poling by myself it's the 11' Sam Heaton rear seat model, hands down, voting over, don't care what anybody else says.
jigging out of my jon boat a 10 ft pole is fine.I save all my old slip rings and turn all mine into rear seats. put on a zebco t11 and I am set. Big water out of bigger boat a longer pole works better. Well, it doesn't work better but you can just handle it more easily.
like feesh said Sam Heaton might as well lock the thread
I fish with 11 ft bnm's bucks custom crappie rod. It has a rear seat and cork handle. Have tinkered with other rods and the tips just don't stand up to this rod. Breaking tips chaps my butt. Late spring in the thickets you need a tough rod. I use this rod at all times. I promise u will not be disappointed.
Rear seat Ozark 12 footer
Wade fishing 10ft Slater crappie fly rod.Rear seat ,has a bigger tip than my B&M's but very sensetive.Have used this pole for several yrs and have yet to break a tip and I'm fairly ruff on my stuff.
The sam heaton with rear seat . Like the 11 ft . Length, but the 12 ft. Has a better feel . Jmo .
Sam Heaton... You can feel'em sniff it
used a Sam Heaton jig pole until meatgetter showed me the Ozarks!!!! Bad mistake for the crappie!!! An Ozark jigpole for crappie fishing is like a Gloomis Rod for bass fishing!!! If not using an Ozark jigpole hope your fishing partner's not!!!!
While ordering a Ozark from(best price) Meatgetter have him send you some of his favorte Meatgetter Jigs second to none!!!! Good fishing!!! Warning they (meatgetter jigs's) are hazardous to crappie!!!!
bucks best ultralite with rear bottom seat @ touch system 11 ft. #1, capps&coleman wading rod 9 ft. #2, grizzly elite louie Mansfield signater series 10 ft. 6 in. with rear ext. #3, really all 3 are tied for #1, sam heaton rear seat touch system 11 ft. is very great also , second runner up, camo brushcutter 12 ft. awesome pole in its own right, #1 all around pole if you could just have 1 pole, honorable mention for all around, richard Williams crappie wizard 10 ft. the gypsy has spoken!
I have 10 and 11 ft ozark rods. 10'ft if i am holding it all day with a solo reel. The 11 ft is a lot heavier but has its application when u need a little more reach. Never tried sam Heaton rods.
12 foot rear seat ultra light B&M
Ozark all the way
12 foot grizzly elite rear seat. Fly reel. 15 lb Ande envy green. 1/8 ounce lead head sickle. Very dangerous.
I have used the Sam Heaton for decades, but mine don't have the rear reel seat. I like em tho. I got an Ozark rear reel seat and it's the best feeling rod I've used. I wish I had a Sam Heaton rear reel seat to compare it to, but no more than I jig fish, I'll just use the ones I have for now. All of mine are 11'ers. I have a 12' Wally Marshall tho. I like the 11's better unless I'm in pads or areas without overhead cover.
11' Sam Heaton with a Wally WMR5 reel has been the down fall of many crappie !
10 ft rear seat ozark!!! Cant beat em also love the 11ft
Hey G. I looked all over for a 12 foot rear seat Ozark but the webpages say the longest they come is 11 foot. How did you get 12 foot?
Ozark does have a 12ft. But not a rear seat.. you can cut the handle off at the end of the reel seat and have a 11 1/2 ft.pole!!!!!!! !
I was at grizzly yday and after i looked at tha jig poles i bought rear seat 11ft heaton hands down its twice tha quality of ozark from tha cork handle, better guides and finish on tha over all rod...
Ima settle this here argument right now.... The perfect jig pole is the one with a 3lb crappie attached to the end of it....... Nuff said.

For $80 they better be good.
Nephew came home from Washington a couple weeks ago and we went crappie fishing everyday for a week, he uses a $300+ Loomis 10'er, I use a 10' Ozark rear seater, just ask him who got there azz whipped every trip by that $35 Ozark.... I have broken about 3 tip sections in the past 5 years, but every time was my fault...... he says well I have a life time warranty on the loomis, I just send them $35 and get a new one, I said I have a life time warranty on mine also, I drive 40 miles to Tony's store and get a new one for $35 and get to keep the bottom section.......
What type of reel do you use on the Ozark 11ft pole?? Are you mainly just dropping line vertically or you casting with these jig poles??
I use a jig pole reel.....no casting involved the way I fish them.
Sam heaton super sensative all the way
x2 on the Ozark 11" rear seat. Very sensitive tip and plenty of back bone after you hook em!Rear seat helps balance the rod length.Just my opinion!
X3 on the Ozark! !!!
