I'm hoping the weather man is wrong too. I don't want the power out but we are scheduled to run a half marathon Saturday in Memphis. Being that cold is gonna make it tough, but ice on the streets will be really tough
I hoping for 50's :biggrin But it not look like it
Yeah, 50's, calm winds, and a favorable barometric pressure for fishing. So I'm delusional, a guy can dream can't he?
I think this will officially mark the end of the fall bite and drop the water temps well into the 40's......hello winter fishing. Stay safe and warm folks. Here is your limerick for the day.
Catching winter crappie in the cold,
Not much fun when you're getting old.
Fishing's not nice,
Ramps are covered in ice,
And launching is just for the bold.
The water temperature was 45 degrees Tuesday on secret lake xxx . There was 30 boats in 100 x 300yd area boy was I glad these was a secret lake!!!!!!! !
Hey you northern boys getting any precipatation yet?? Looks to be just edging us down here. I'm home with the girls today, so I'm watching the radar and eating. Mom and boys gone to orthodontist. May tie a few jigs here in a bit.

Here is the website I look at for "fairly accurate" weather predictions. It us calling for 0.5 to 0.75 inches of ice running from central Arkansas to northeast Arkansas.
I'm a weather spotter and noaa.gov is all I use also. We use this for the most part, ecspecially in the spring. Its out of Norman OK, so they are normally right on top of our weather in Arkansas.

All I can say is burrrrrrr. I would love to see about a six inch snow tho.
Scrapper, I live south in Norfork, I know Roger Steel he is retired now from teaching. Think he sells real estate. I wish this weather hadnt come was catching a few crappie on Norfork Lake.
Yeah I really enjoyed my time up there. I tell everyone about it...thats some of the prettiest country around!! He was dabbling in real estate when I was there. A friend of mine from college is there now. I stayed with a fella named Mike Bradshaw while I was there. You know him?? Works for a Dr that has longhorn cattle.
My wife just got off the phone with Tom Brannon. He says it is going to be like the 2000 storm. Central Arkansas included.
Scrapper, I know Bradshaw too, and yes this is beautiful country, but I do believe you folks farther south in the shallower dingy lakes have much better crappie fishing than we do in are deep clear lakes. I hope everyone gets thru this storm without lossing power for days.
I don't care to see another ice storm. We had ours in 2009. It was really nothing more than an inconvienence for me, as I can live without many comforts. My wife hated it and I don't want to hear it again. I ran our house on a generator and we ate good every night. The central heat was working, we had hot showers and hot meals. What more could you ask for. Got our electricity on after 10.5 agonizing days. We had it good. Some did not get their power on for 35 days.
Good luck to everyone tonight and tomorrow. I'm sure there will be some bad spots but I hope the outages are very isolated. Be careful on the roads also.
Well ain't you guys just full of Great News!!! LOL
