Harney advice for a newbie?

Hi guys,
I've gotten interested in crappie fishing lately. I live right around the corner from Lake Harney and have heard the crappie fishing gets pretty good in there. Any of you guys have any advice for me (a total newbie)? A friend told me to slow troll roadrunner lures in the middle of the lake. That is basically all I know. I have been wondering:
1. What time of year is the best to catch crappie in Harney?
2. Are there times it's better to fish the St. John's?
3. Are there times it's better to run up the Econ from St. John's?
4. Any type of rig/set advice would be greatly appreciated.

Middle to mid south of lake........... its all like 8-10 fow. We had luck with 1/16 Orange body black tail, and midnight blue / chartruse tail grubs. the slowest you can troll without the jigs hitting the bottom. It seams bigger fish in Harney this year vs Monroe.

Now is a really good time for Harney, thought I had to work yesterday morning, job cancelled so dropped some lines & caught around 50, kept a few for pic & released all. Can't go wrong will road runners trolling, but have to give prop's to Taser jigs, caught 2 to 1 dragging (2) poles tipped w/minnows off weighted float vs (8) poles long-lining. As far as location try NW of crowd in the middle to where St. John's exits lake
If you ever see a light green alum boat w/suzuki motor flag me down I'd like to meet ya & help if I can. Incidentally, if anybody lost a pole at the Slab-together I've snagged one & will return w/original algae & all

Thanks for the advice. I took my 4 year old out there on Saturday. We threw out some bobbers with minnows in the middle of the lake. We got 4 crappie, a catfish, and gar in less than an hour. Then he had enough (he was too hot wearing a life jacket) and wanted to go to the river bank and dig sand castles. Next time I'll get an earlier start, pick a cooler day, or leave him at home.Attachment 144497
