Friend of mine's son saw this the other day at Arkabutla while he was duck hunting. Said it was about the size of his hand.

looks like a tarantula .http://www.photographyblogger.net/wp...arantula13.jpg
It's a really big wolf spider. Tarantulas can't live here.
Those big wolf spiders are all over Reelfoot....fish at night and shine a lite and you can see their eyes....on every cypress tree out there
Everything grows big at Butla.:Rofl
Don't mind spiders ifn I see em but hate to walk into a web and not know where he is.
Could you imagine squattin down to do your biz and grab a handful of that.
Geez what a spider
I'd shoot it first and ask questions later.
that b a big 1
Once upon a time, late, late, at night, sleeping on the ground in a shelter half at Ford Sill Oklahoma, something moving on my chest woke me up......... I grabbed it, and felt hairy legs between my fingers, threw it on my battle buddy's chest, and jumped straight up in my shelter half! Needless to say, shelter halves were not created with enough headroom to stand up. Also needless to say, my drill sergeant was not amused...............
Tie some string to his legs and Go Fishin!!! That's a REAL spider rigger!!! :-)
Basic training, Ft Gordon, 1968. Drill Sgt (SSG) had Orderly Room duty one night, got really drunk began shooting a .25 cal pistol into the cast iron heater then got into his Grand Torino and burned rubber up and down the company street then the MP's came. He was a CPL the next day but still a Drill Sgt.
Nothing like walking through the woods in the dark going to your favorite tree rat tree and walk into one of them webs strung cross your path and that big ole spider is doing push ups on your nose! And if that web gets on the metal of your gun, it's like it's welded on there!
