The Big Easy TRU-Infrared Oil-Less Turkey Fryer - Model 12101480 - Smokers & Fryers
I like the "no oil" idea.
Just bought one myself. Orville and Brian both have them and they cook some awesome pork roasts and chickens and turkeys.
Hope Santa brings me one!!!
I had some turkey that Orville did in his cooker. It was pretty darn tasty.
Major, my oldest son has one and loves it!!!
Check the Cooking Section, I just bought one, and cooked a prime rib Thurs. I bought the elec.

academy sports got them $10 off right now saw them yesterday
Major......when I get one.....it will be electric
seems like electric is the way to go and more convenient. propane is not the cheapest.
I've got one, the electric model. I do chickens in it all the time. I have done a few turkey breast and a couple small turkeys in it. I like the chickens best, but it's all good. I inject my birds then put some dry rub in the cavity, then I rub the outside down with a mayonnaise and mustard mixture, then sprinkle the same dry rub on the bird. The mayo, mustard mix doesn't flavor the bird but makes the skin a crisp golden brown. I generally cook a large hen for about an hour sometimes a little less. They turn out juicy and good!
Sounds good. I go to Costco and get a whole rotisserie chicken for I think its $5.99 now. Can't beat it. Big, juicy and tasty. Course I live 2 minutes away. :) If I get one, I'd be cooking the chickens over turkeys. Just better taste to me.
I've got the gas model and love it. In the last two weeks I've cooked two turkeys and two turkey breasts and everyone thought they were great. I inject mine with a creole butter and rub down with Tony Cachery's. With the oiless fryer you have to cook at 10 minutes per pound where with oil fryers you cook at about 3.5 minutes per pound. I haven't tried anything else but I guarantee I will be trying other meats in it.
Is the Turkey as good this way as it is deep fried? I know there great floating in Oil. I smoke mine there days as doctor don't like me having fried foods. But what he does not know may kill me but going to still eat some a few times per year.:Rofl
I've got the big easy propane cooker and love it !! Cooked 4 turkeys for thanksgiving and the cleanup was easy. Birds taste great ,
Academy on County Line Rd in Jackson, has the propane model for $99.99 right now.
$79.99 at Home Depot. But no military rate.
Ordered the electric model from Amozon for $167.00, free shipping.

You will be glad you got the electric model. No need to worry about gas just plug it in and set it WAO. (Wide A$$ Open)

Ya'll are killin me. Crappie.Com is gonna break me. I never even knew I needed one of those oil-less cookers till I got on here yesterday, and now I want one so bad I can taste it.
I cancelled the Char-Broil ($167.00) and ordered the Butterball ($117.00).
Huh, I didn't know CharBroil made an electric model. You sure it wasn't a smoker?
Major , what does that say ? Smoker and Roaster. it says nothing about oilless turkey fryer.
I give, you win.
Wilbur....infra red is infra red.....and you can smoke in them by putting chips in a pan for smoke. The Butterball brand electric that Major has ordered is a good one. The book with it says not to cook a turkey bigger than 12 lbs though.
G, I just read that the Butterball will cook a turkey up to 18lbs.
