I want to, but I have never been to that lake. I don't even know where the ramp is. I am going to try to fish it a few time before the Slabtogether. I think it has been moved to the 14th now. It you would like to show me the ropes, I would love to go Tuesday. We can fish in my boat or use both of our boats. Can cover more water that way. Send me a PM if you want to get together. Fished the lake only. A lot of small fish. Biggest might have been 10". Should of known that something was up. While on the way to the big lake there must of been about 10 locals fishing the river. As I was heading off the lake FWC checked me out and said that I was the only boat on the whole lake crappie fishing and that the river is the place to be. Going back sometime before the 14th to do some more exploring.
And they were all on the trees I had picked out to fish on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Planning on going Saturday to Astor...fish George and the river I suppose.
....... and Ill be there spidering w/ minnows :)
Be prepared for traffic, they are having their Christmas street parade on Sat at 10 am (I believe they shut down SR 40)
& the boat parade is that evening at dusk. Good Luck !!

Downtown Sanford ramp is the same way with hyacinths and some in the Lake where the river's bring em' north. I hope it clears up for Saturday.Quote:

I remember the ramp at Astor being covered up like that in the past. We backed the boat in and ran it in gear to clear it enough to get around. I hope the spray crew didn't get too busy up there, always changes things. Y'all have a good get together regardless......Skeet.
