Good for you and the Mrs, Mr. Jim!!
48 lbs. of turkey..... y'all better be hungry lol.....have a good one Mr. Jim
Scott, it musta been hot on that smoker. Looks like your turkey is takin off his clothes. Will post my pie pics as soon as the last one comes out.
Okay here are my pies. Yes I baked them myself. No mixing, no chocolate , straight up sweet potato and pecan. If I ever make one of your gatherings, expect some just like these. (I confess, this is the only kind I ever tried to bake) Attachment 143589
It all looks good guys, me and the boss are working on ours now. Just don't eat too much tomorrow. Yeah right.
Those pies look great Dan....bring some pecan ones to the Toledo Bend shindig
Mr. Jim, if we don't have enough for my annual turkey breast and crandberry sauce samich on Friday, I'm coming visit you. GitdaGrease, those pecans came out of our and the neighbors yard, last year. The trees did nothing this year. Picked 100 lbs last year in a couple days, got about 10 lbs this year total. :dono
That reminds me of my long gone father-in-law. He was a contractor/home builder who worked all over the U.S. from Chicago, to D.C., and Miami. (He actually hung sheet rock in the Watergate building.) Anyhow, every year during the holidays he would "build" a pecan pie. That's what he called it anyhow, I thought it was kinda funny, building a pie instead of making one.
Those look good--but there aren't enough of them. Minimum of 6 for sweet potato or punkin--3 for me before and 1 for after--the other two are for everyone else. The Pecan--at least two--one to last me for a couple of days and one for everybody else--I'm not kidding either--I can put em down:biggrin
Sorry for the unintentional hijack. Come fish Toledo Bend with us in jan. and like G , I will make one for you. Oh and if you post a pic of your turkey tomorrow, leave his clothes on. Happy Thanksgiving.
