I have never had as tough a bite as we did today on Conway. We caught one fish and didn't get a single nibble other than that one. We fished from 5:30 - 10:00 and covered everything from the grass to the deep brush before the wind started . The only good thing is it wasn't crowded. Lol.
Maybe why it wasn't crowded. Same for me last few times i caught my 2 fish limit lol
The rest of the boats were following Crappie Pro and CMJ watching them catch fish.
Probably. Lol. It was so bad we started begging for yellow bass just anything to feel the thump. Those little greasy good for nothing pieces of s___ didn't even bite.
HMMMM....O I am going to haft to investigate this report. HAHA!!!
Definitely was tough today, and the wind was CRAZY!!! Me and D10 went out there for a couple hours thinking we were going to wear em out. Pffft...We worked our tails off for 13 (kept 10) Crappie and one BIG Bluegill. The afternoon bite must have been a lil better, but still bad slow. But hey, you know what they say about a bad day of fishing.......
All i gotta say is the guru had no trouble today.
Did they pull the plug to fill the duck woods?
We have been filling Bell Slough for a couple if weeks now. Unfortunately we will have to open more gates to get the lake down to 262.0 fmsl. Right now it is about 3-4 inches above this. I know everyone does not like it when we do this, but unfortunately we have to as a flood preventative measure. I wish we could keep it at 263.0 fmsl year around. But 2 hydrology studies have both recommended the 1 foot winter drawdown.
I noticed today it was falling and blamed my lack of catching fish on you for pulling the plug. My fishing partner today was the same guy from Thursday when we talked to you and he agreed it had to be your fault since you are in charge. :)
I will make a deal with you. You can blame it on me when the fishing is bad, as long as you also give me the credit for the good fishing trips. I could live with that!Quote:

Good news! Because the lake is only a little above the winter pool of 262.0 (262.2), we have decided to just let it get down to 262.0 through the Bell Slough pipe. This means that the lake will fall very slow down to 262.0. Then we will close the Bell Slough gate. Hopefully this will not affect the fishing as much.Quote:

Chances are you didn't find the fish. On really tough days, they seem to key on certain areas and you just gotta find out where those spots are. Second thing is bait. I have seen days where I would not have caught a single fish if I hadn't lucked into tying on a particular color combo. The good news is, the spots are usually the same, and there are a couple color combos that will work when nothing else will. Hang in there it just takes time.Quote:
