Beautiful Day at Sardis

Only a couple of fish today but it sure was beautiful. Even saw 8 deer splashing and playing around in the water. They were having a great time chasing each other and splashing around. Tried to get a video but apparently I didn't push the play button on my dang phone. Did get a few pictures of the beautiful trees. Big thanks to my dad who served in the military and now looking down on us from heaven. I was thinking of him all day long. All the great trips we had together. Funny how some things I can't remember more than 10 seconds, but I sure remember a lot of our fishing trips.

When I was young, I didn't appreciate all the sacrifices he made for me. I sure do now!

You might forget some stuff but it sounds like you remember some of the most important things. Great post.

Memories are all we have, share them when you can.

The leaves are sure changing, the last 3 days have been good days to be on the water.

If you look at the picture. It actually looks like mountain line behind the trees. That was a cloud line. At least it does to me. And I suspect after the next few days a lot of leaves will be gone.

I like the looks of the mountain line, cloud line. All we have here is hills.
I had the yard cleaned up pretty good, new leaf vac. This morning it doesn't look like it's been touched.

Lake will be rolling today for sure.

Attachment 142237What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I was in short sleeves half the day long. Today, I had my winter jacket and hood on my head coming to work.

Was a beautiful day out there yesterday. Wind was aggravating until about 10:30 and then she laid down and the bite was on.

Looks like I need to start using minnows. Hardheaded I guess. The jig thing doesn't work very well this time of year. So it appears.

This is one great post ! While we seem to focus on numbers while fishing, it's the memories that are truely the catch. Looking out on the water we see beautiful reflections of the landscape around from a unique angle. The poster found and shared an even more impressive reflection to me, appreciation of the loved shared by a father to a son. Priceless

I was there Saturday and boy was it nice,,,water was like glass, did more boat ridin then I did fishin,,,, the fish just didn't bite my minnows,,, what the heck you guys doing to getup to bite? Avid don't tell me your spitt'n on them,lol. I tried tipping a jig with a minnow, tried just minnow and a bobber,,,, nothin,,,, u think I had one super light bite and that was it,,,, n was in about 12' of water and fished maybe 8-10'ft,,, nuttin,,,spare the brotha a minnow guys,,,, how you catching these fish?
