1) can anyone fish the fj tourneys? I'd like to fish Grenada/Sardis/Enid this spring
2) I know you can only weigh 7 fish but are you allowed to keep your legal limit? Just a thought.

1. Yes
2. Yes
Yes. And yes, except on Arkabutla. There the lake manager stipulates you can only possess a tournament limit.
That would be a VERY good reason to stop having tourneys on Butla! COE is in charge of FLOOD control . Lake master seems to forget it occasionally
To each their own on keeping a legal limit but if you truly need the fish to feed your family maybe you shouldnt be fishing a tournament in the first place. I see nothing wrong with the rule in place at Butla although it goes against the grain on the other COE lakes.
More than welcome Big Smooth, don't leave off Washington, some of the biggest fish caught in the country this year were caught out of Washington.
I hope we always have Butla on the schedule, some pigs in there and it will make you have to fish hard sometimes.
I thought I heard that the lake manager was replaced about 6 mo ago. Moved on to Vicksburg or something.
No I wouldn't make much sense to do that but you can atleast try. They sell a bubble box at Walmart for like 7 or 8 dollars. You can take any old cooler and drill a hole in the top, run hose thru, and glue bubbler on cooler top. That's your homemade live well and I promise it works. Btw, live fish weigh more than dead fish.
I've got a live well in my G3 but I just use it for storage. But if live fish weigh more than dead fish I will surely be using it. Thanks Bird Down I didn't know that.
I have no idea Sat. I dont think its a bad thing though not allowing anglers to keep over the legal tournament limit on tourney days and I sure hope folks dont cross butla off the list because of it. I to wish the lakes could be managed a little more for fishing than flood control but thats what they were put there for. The bi product though is almost without a doubt the best crappie fishing in the US and thats why I drive hundreds of miles almost weekly to fish. The folks who live close to the lakes often forget how good they have it when it comes to crappie fishing. Im just glad I live close enough to be able to enjoy the best crappie fishing in the US.
Yep, you hit the nail on the head Handi.
just only bring your 7 biggest to the weigh-in table, leave the rest in the cooler, problem solved.
