Tried yesterday morning & weather guesser was RIGHT, on the water at 7am, caught 6 by 7:30 & was isolated to the east side due to the wind, then wind died down, over-cast, & I thought it was ON, only to be followed by the Front, Rain, & Wind= calm before the storm/end of story, promising to see a few on the east side.
Yep, same here, trolled Beresford for the first half hour, zip... Saw the front coming and headed to the river for the rest of the day. Did you get off the lake before it got too gusty?? Is the river coming down any at Harney?? It's coming down some up here but still too high for my liking.Quote:

Ok here's the deal...............going to Harney fer sure Tuesday. Fishin hilbili snuck into town a few days ago and I think he's fishing Monroe today, but I plan on meeting him and his buddy at Harney Tuesday. Hopefully he'll post a report on Monroe later. Not sure if he's computerized or not.
Hear it is: I must say I've had better days out there but the wind predicted a lot of what we were able to do. Put in at Lemon Bluff Sat at 6AM, after fixing my broken throttle linkage & an over heating issue on the other boat we made it to the lake around 7:30AMWhite Flag Icon. It was fairly calm but got rough quick, we caught 32 fish total between both boats from 7:30 to 12:30 - then we had lunch on deep creek to get a break from the wind. Got back to ramp & weighed the best 5 fish from each boat. I had 4 lb 2 oz & they had 4 lb 8oz for total weights, I don't know how accurate the handheld scale I have is but I think it's close.

On the water about 7:15 rough water and fog fog fog fog.....until around 10AM. Caught 2 then the sun came out and the wind died down and caught another 13 in about two hours. Had 7 over 13" and I'm guessing they weighed around 1lb 4oz or more....so that means it will take 7+ lbs to win. Fishin Hilbili and his friend Joe did about the same. As of now the wind looks like 5 to 7 out of the south. Hope to see a bunch of goobers there Saturday.

I made all that up.....ain't no fish in Harney! Depth is good. Just bear right before you head out into the lake. It get's about 2+' right at the mouth but you'll be ok if your on a plane. Heck fire...............I forgot you're in a flats boat!!:RoflQuote:

To get into Harney from 46. Go up river tell you get to opening of the lake and you will see a safety cone on the right. Stay to the inside and run on a plane between the cone and the land, 90 degrees to the river flow, close to the cone, cone will then be on left and weeds on right then. You will see another PVC pipe or rod to the right of the cone, it will be on your left like the cone, run past it, and a bit more then turn out into the lake. Good idea to take a look and figure out what you are going to do before you hit it on a plane the first time.
Its high enough now to run straight out for my Gheenue
Hope you let them go in the river so I have a few to fish for..........
Gonna try em again Friday and hopefully we'll have another good report for the slabtogether............
