Gosh Pappy! I was going to start a string and ask if anybody had heard any results from today at the CUSA Classic, and you beat me to it! I wanted to go down to the weigh-in today, but the fish started biting about the time I would have had to head that way so I stayed on the water. Anybody heard any day one results?
I think 10+ is leading and chucky has had bad luck. Power pack went out.
I saw a weight of 10.7 and a big fish of 2 lbs. we left before it was over so that could have changed a bit. Lots of teams between 9 and 10 lbs.
said wasnt any place had one there. Said he was coming home in the morning. Was pretty upset about it .....that is putting it pretty mildly
:scratchhead Wonder what the deal is with the low weights? Fishing has been up and down the past couple of weeks, but I sure would think some of these guys would have found them. It's cloudy today so maybe things will go a bit better. We're going down for the weigh-in this afternoon. It's a cryin' shame about chucky!
My contact said Blood was upside down in turnover looking water...
Leaders were fishing Barkley and having to dig the fish out of "their own personal placed stakebeds"....
He said lots of teams couldn't even find their 7...

Capps and Coleman. 20.8 something was the total. Won by over a pound.

Congrats to Jeff and Gary, that whole crew has done a ton of work putting out beds. Good things happen to good folks.
Well George and I had some nice fish early in the week but couldnt get the big fish to bite Friday and not enough bites Saturday. If the wind blows down there you better have other places to fish cause it is BAD. My luck was better than Chucky and some of the guys staying with me. Only had thermostat go out of my truck, Chucky boat trouble, bad battery, one even got speeding ticket. Guys it is a blast at the Classic. Hope more of yall try it.[ATTACH=CONFIG]140455[/ATTACH
Thanks Justin for the comments.........
It's been a long week getting ready for tourney and then fishing those two days in less than ideal conditions.
Now I can go back to the important stuff of just catching and eating!!!! Not the big ones though. Ha Ha
Congrats Kytiteloc on a great job at the Classic :ThumbsUp!
Pappy, it popped at about 9 am Friday morning. By the time i trolled about a mile back to the marine and the tech looked at it, it was about noon. He called about 7 or 8 places. No one had the one i needed for a optimax. He even went thru his "grave yard" of boats and motors. Couple could have it by noon Sat but the was it. So i released the three blacks i had, loaded up and headed in. I will tell you this, when i backed the trailer down and hopped in the boat to load it, it did cross my mind to just pull the plug and swim back to the bank. But like a friend said to me " things happen for a reason". Texted my wife that afternoon about it. She called and ordered me one, be here Tuesday. PLUS an extra one. This will never happen again. Atleast one good thing happened, the owner of the marina took a pic of me that morning fishing out front of his water break wall and posted it on his facebook wall. My wife found it today. Where it was just getting light, the pic looks like a shadow but anyone knows me and my boat can tell.
Tim, i see why you didn't want to show Lynn them pictures at the dinner. Nice fish :ThumbsUp. But,let me guess, David the ticket and Donnie the battery problem.
See everyone next weekend at the Fall Brawl.
Chucky,
I hated to hear about your luck. There is nothing like being all geared up for this deal and then your best man (so to speak) decides to leave you hanging...
So it was a power pack on your Optimax?? Just curious because that is what I run.....
Thanks, I really appreciate it!!
I have a Mercury 90 Optimax. Some calls it a power pack, but i call it a coil pack. I had the #1 coil pack go out on me a couple of years ago and where i ordered it from, they had it listed as a coil pack. This time is was #3. I think before next spring i will go ahead and replace the #2 one and then i will have two extra packs. A new one and a used one :Rofl. I am not sure who all the tech called but he said they were the ones he always ordered parts from. Some did give him numbers of others to call about the part.
Since that is your home lake, you might want to think about having a extra pack on your boat. Especially if you travel far from a ramp. I am just glad i had four trolling motor batteries on board or i may would have had to of gotten out the paddle. They say low voltage on the big motor battery is the #1 cause for a coil pack to go out. So i fixed that by installing three onboard chargers. So i know that didn't cause it. Guess it was just going bad.
I looked at that wrong.......... I'm running a VMax...........
Still a bad break for you on your motor............
