Does anyone have a dozen 10x1.50 eye bolts that aren't needed on your project?
G can get a bunch of em over at Moore's!!!
no but i know where some wooden spindles are if you need them
Heck, I've got almost 3 cases of those spindles.
I found them at one place, 2 weeks shipping, $9 each.
I got the racks installed today and loaded the yaks on it. I'm thinking, it would be better if the setscrews were eyebolts to secure the yaks. I check, the mounting bolts are the same thread as the setscrews, so off to the hardware store I go. I get to the bolt section and find the bolt checker thing. It's metric, 10 x 1.50, so I look around for a while before HELP arrives. Nope, we don't carry metric eyebolts, try Fastenal behind Napa up the street. So I walk in and tell the guy what I need. He looks on his computer and finds the cast eyebolt in metric, only ones he can find. How many boxes do you need, 50 per box $449.94 with tax? Dang, that's $9 per bolt, and 38 more than I need. Thank you for your time, I've got to rethink this. I stop at TSC, HD and L on the way home, they don't carry them either. I've got a week to figure a tiedown for the yaks.
That's high for sure, post a pic
ya mite try this if ya got to order some,, got the best shipping on the planet,,,get a order most every day from them at our fab shop,,In my book #1 in hardware supplyMcMaster-Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#general-pur...ebolts/=p31xb8
I checked McMaster's, they want over $6 each, 25 per box.
I'll get 12 bolts the length I need and weld a chain link to the head. Or check out cam straps.
You should bring them to spring camp and let Big blue raffle them off or give them away for door prizes. I know GDG talked about them thing all weekend long at picwick and feesh was excited about it as well cause GDG said he was going to build something for him with those spindles, maybe when he gets it done they will post a picture
Try Active Bolt in Memphis.(901) 523-1557
Drill them holes out and retap with standard threads!Did you try Southaven supply? They got everything!
Active bolt website doesn't work.
I go to Southaven Supply first for everything I need in hardware.
Grainger has em......
I wish they had a store in Southaven. Their warehouse is a rocks throw from my house, well 6/10 mile.
Every place I find them they are $6 or more or I have to order a box of 50, I need 12.
Hey, I'm cheap, that's why I reload and cast my own sinkers. A 3/4" bolt is about $1 each, I have plenty of chain, I'll make my own.
