Yep, that's a bad day for sure.
Have seen that a lot more than I thought it would happen . Bud light usually plays a part but not always . People get in a hurry and don't unstrap the boat .Once the boat floats the trailer on a steep ramp it will pick up the back tires and you are going swimming !:dono
Hate it for that guy, no telling what caused it. I used to get calls when I was a rescue diver for the Madison Co SO to go to a ramp and find the truck and hook a tow line to it.
He was backing his trailer in to load his boat.
I had a big Celebrity ski boat years ago that you'd have to bury the trailer in the water to load it. Never had to back in THAT far though.:Rofl
Wow
Didn't know you could back the truck in with the boat. Lmbfao
I saw something like this years ago on the lower lake. He backs the trailer down the center of the ramp then gets in the boat. His wife backs him in to launch. Stops, puts the truck in forward, releases the brake and gives it gas. Not waiting for the transmission to catch up. The ramp was closed for about 6 hours.
bad day for sho
Bad day for sure.
Heard an eyewitness account on this one. The guy backed in to unload boat. Got out of truck and the brakes let go. He jumped back into truck, had no brakes and engine wouldn't start before he went into the water. Finally go it stopped somehow but was chest deep in water sitting in the cab. They pulled it out with a chain....water in engine and called a tow truck. A real bad day.
That will ruin more than a day, to say the least.
Might need to bum more than smoke now. Saw it this spring over here. Guy loading boat put truck in reverse instead of forward and ran truck into to river. I unhooked my boat and pulled him out.
