A friend of mine asked if I knew of a good place to catch flathead around here. I put this queston on the main board under catfish but no reply as yet.

Thanks guys I forwarded this thread to him.
Coldwater River with limb lines and pond perch.Them flatties only want live bait!
They are catching a few in the big 4 spillways........only a few, but big ones, and only on live bait.
Hit the yalobusha anywhere down river from Holcomb. All we used for bait was shad and other than the occasional white river cat all we caught were flatheads. We even managed a few nice yellows. Coldwater is another fine river for flatheads.
Grew up fishing the Yalobusha between Holcomb and Greenwood. I agree with Bigcrappiemax, there are some fine flathead yellow cats in there. Boat ramp at Holcomb and one at Greenwood......
I like to use the ramp on the malmaison management area, caught lots of flathead there.this is the time of year to load up on them too.
Yep, I forgot all about that one......
They have it built up nice. I couldn't use the old ramp there when the water came down, but the new one is not as steep. It is much better on us 2-wheel drive folks.
Haven't been there in a while, didn't know they change the ramp.
They are wearing the catfish out in the spillway at Grenada.... Sat there and watched an old geezer catch 5 in 30 minutes at lunch today. Think I am bringing a rod to work with me Friday. Nothin like a little fishin while on your lunch break! Saw several other folks leaving with long stringers of nice cats......
Caught a 14 lbr at butla few years at a black and chart rr with a minner.
You aint gonna melt and catfesh like rain!!!:biggrin
It has been several years but use to fish MS river @ Rosedale and Greenville, Used goldfish on short throw lines, always caught some nice flatheads.
