to go on your wall? I have always said 4 lbs but pretty sure that's never gonna happen.

to go on your wall? I have always said 4 lbs but pretty sure that's never gonna happen.
3lbs for me.
Over 5lbs 3oz.
It's got to weigh enough for you to be proud of it. The circumstances around catching it may have something to do with it as well.
I like Scotts answer.....I think Mr.Jim has been in the wine lol
Think I'll mount my first one when I catch it.
Would love to mount one but it will prolly have to be in the 3.5 range, 3 pounders just eat too dern good.:biggrinFish in my avatar weighed 3 and went rite in the livewell just like the rest of em.
Yep. What weight do they start tasting like sardines? That is the weight that goes on the wall!
IF IT IS 3 LBS IT COST ABOUT A 100 DOLLARS A POUND TO MOUNT SO IF IT IS BIGGER IT WOULD BE LESS A POUND RIGHT ? I GOT ONE IN THE FREEZER OUT OF BARNETT 2.86 POUNDS , ONE SHAD UNDER THREE SO WHAT DO YOU DO ? I THINK IT IS GOING IN MY NEXT COOLER FOR ICE THIS TIME AND WISH FOR BIGGER . :fish
4lbs for me
Don't real have an exact weight.I will say this back in the day before big crappie was so popular a 3lb fish was no big deal but 3lbers are becoming more illusive. So i guess i will make the call to mount or not when the time comes.
No G I haven't been in the wine don't drink it.My reasoning for 5.3 is if it cost that much to get mounted catch a new record and ill bet you could get it mounted for free.PFTTTT
I have a 3 and 3 pnd 2 oz on the wall so I guess in the 3 and half range, hmmmmmmmm we will be at Washington again this winter again!!!!:biggrin
Surest way to catch a 4# one is to mount a 3# one. :Rofl
My plan is to mount the next 3.0. Then each one larger than the last.
guy in trumann has over 20 mounted that he caught out of burnt Cane. Lots of nice crappie there 5 years ago. now not so many. took my 3 pounder to the taxidermist and a guy comes in with a 4-2 at the same time. made mine look like a guppy. lol
Well, everyone knows I mounted my 3.77. I had caught a 3.05 a few years ago and didn't but regretted it later so it was a no brainer. I guess now if i caught one over 4 I would mount it.
Liar liar pants on fire, you catch another 3.77 you know you gonna put it rite beside the other one .
You could start one of these.

I hope I have to make that decision, lol
3 pd crappie is like a really nice 8 pt buck.
Anything over is just even more bragging rights.
3.25 don't come easy these days.
I have several from 3.03 to 3.51 mounted. If I caught a 3.25 out of Barnett I would mount it... Just because my biggest on that lake is a 3.09.... So it all depends where they come from for me
But I throw the 3 pounders back if I ain't gonna mount them in hopes either I might possible catch one on a tournament day or it'll make someone else's day. I rather eat the 1 - 1.25lb fish
Like Mr Jim said, gona have to be 5.3 or bigger for me, already put a 4.1 and a 4.3 under the knife.
Bouth caught 4yrs ago on nader in the spring in same week
I figured Nader but in the same week, that was one heck of a week.
High standards for a bunch of Gewbs.
Handi, i'd pay to have a another yr like my ole buddy JW ( RIP friend ) and i had that yr.
I have 4 lber mounted............came out of Grenada Spillway.
4lb. my best is a 3lb.15 oz. have caught three over 3lbs. in my life . think money is safe ! lol .
I would rather spend a few hundred dollars catching more fish, than remembering one fish I caught in the past. Think of how many minners (bandits, jigs, poles, gallons of gas, fishing line) you could buy with the money spent on one crappie. I mounted a pair of big deer when I was younger. They both hang on the wall of my wife's biology classroom now. They get old, and after a few years they just get in the way. Save your money and go fishing!!!
Just this year alone ive driven over 8000 miles, bought 150 bandits, 20 plus poles and spent no telling how much on minners and new jigs. What I havent been able to buy is a 3 pounder but I can promise you when I do that baby is going on the wall. I basically dont duck hunt anymore but just seeing the mounts I have from past years each day brings back great memories and the older we get memories are often times all we have left.
Think the new lake you have been learning may satisfy that itch come Spring if you will let it.:ThumbsUp
