nice looking vise and jigs, what made you decide on that vise instead of the others??
Gotta love a rotary!
I can see right off that you were ready for an upgrade! Congrats!
Can you tell us the brand/model of your new vise?
God, I hate my vise, and want to upgrade so badly. I am hoping that Santa
may bring me one at Christmas time!
Very nice jigs and super nice vice. I would love a true rotating vice.
Congrats on the upgrade,
Bobo
Its a Griffin Spider, price and quality , hard to beat for the price, got to like it over what I had.
Tyed a few jigs today
never used black jigs before, wonder if they will catch a fish?Attachment 138990
I was lucky to have a deal offered and started with a good rotary. Perchjerker1 has passed away but I thank him every time I sit at the vise. You'll really grow to love your new vise. Have lots of fun with it.
Good luck with the new vice and just enjoy this great hobby! Nice ties!

Nice vice !! I have to be the only guy around that doesn't own one of them new fangled rotary vices. Still tying with a 1980's Thompson A model. It has to be 30 years old by now and never has given me a day of trouble. No doubt that it will out live me. Have used it so much that moist of the chrome is off the handle.

I have noticed not many people here post photos of black jigs, unless it is tiny ants or some other terrestrial.
I happen to like them myself. I have used plastic tube bodies in the past, black with a firetip tail - -
and did well with them. A lot depends upon water conditions.
Great setup and really nice looking tie job! Congrats
black looks good. i've been fishing with jigs for 20 yrs but never tried black so after Sat, I want be able to say that any more. I going to give them a try, heck I dont even know what I was doing with black marabou in my box.
I catch a lot on all black. Black is good for muddy water and at night, when fish are looking for the silhouette of prey. Caught a lot of crappie and smallmouth on this pattern:

Shoemoo not so loud it is one of my secret spring patterns . One of my favorites is a Kip tail thread neck black with a dark blue wing. the thread color is red and that's important. Dark colors for dark days and bright colors for bright days. I like fishing them on the dark side of the Cypress trees. Always fish the shade side first.
