They look great, now all you need is some with FL Blue a lighter shade to go along with them and you should be set. Bet you do good with them!
Nice work
Have to agree with Skip Silver is a good head for a crappie jig. The other color to never be without is Galaxy Black. Out of my 5 goto never fail crappie jigs three are Silver and two are the Galaxy Black. Yes I do fish other color heads but when I have to put meat in the pot I like Silver and Galaxy Black. The other color heads that work well for me are Red, White, Forest Green, Flo. Pink, and Chartreuse and not in that order any and every day it will and can change. Think that it has to do with the Time of day and how the Sun or lack of it hits the water along with the color of the water. My home lake where I do 99.9% of my fishing is dirty most of the time. Clear water for us is to see 2 feet down. Most of the time clarity is 6 to 8 inches.
Now there is something for you guys to chew on for a while.

Nice tying work and jigs.
thanks guys, the head is unpainted, just double dipped in fire cracker top coat.

When I first tried dipping an unpainted head into Firecracker glitter, then back in the heat gun for about 4 seconds,
the glitter just fell right off! I spoke to Pepop about this and he suggested I add quite a bit more Clear to the glitter.
Is that the way you do it?
YOu sure don't want more glitter than paint. It doesn't take as much glitter as you may think. It shouldn't ever fall off.
Make sure it's stirred up really good before you dip, I could maybe see it bumpy but like Skip said it should never fall off. You can always take a tablespoon of it and put in a tablespoon of clear in a separate container and shake it and dip it in that.
you did a fantastic job on your Clearwater jigs.
Thanks Bob, Skip got me into this about 6 yrs ago and its become a real addiction !! I bought some jigs from him, then asked about tying my own....a little goody bag starter kit showed up in the mail....next thing i know ....bam ! Caught like a rat in a trap !!! You newbies beware of Skip, he'll get ya hooked !!
it is pretty easy to get hooked into jig making you just have to be careful and don't get the fever Like skip and me pretty soon you will have a room full of all kinds of goodies not to mention UPS will be coming daily.
I cant think of a better addiction to have Skip ! The ability to produce jigs that produce fish has gotten me invited on more fishing outings than i can count. I never go to a new lake or a lake i dont know very well without several little bags of different types of jigs in my pocket. Start talking to some of the locals at the ramp, hand out a few bags of jigs for them to try and you will be suprised at the info you will get about where to fish, colors used, depth to fish....I've even had a few give me GPS cords ! Yeah you got me hooked sir and I thank you !!
Well your welcome and yes I thinks there is not a better hobby to have than this. Is fun, catches fish and gets you to use you brain to see what you can do with materials! Glad you are enjoying it that much.
guys I started this hobby over 40 years ago should say when I is about 16 years old in I loved every minute of it it's been part of my life in it always will be we enjoyed making jigs and plastic baits now.
Nice job Steve. I like the kip tail blue!! What is the other tail material?
It has been 20 minutes since I last tied a jig. :Rofl
I too am getting addicted. We were in Michael's Craft store last night and the wife started pointing out things to me to use for tail material. LOL I gotta love her. Now one else has ever put up with me as long as she has.
BTW Great looking jigs. I really like the first and third one.

Hey Vern like Skip said we told you to run and not look back!!!!!!!LOL I had put the jigs away for years and did nothing but tie flys and flyfish, one day looking for something saw my molds and pulled everything out and poured a couple 1000 and it's been back on ever since.
I've been a tackle/material junkie for years!!!!!!!!! You think jig tying materials gets expensive - start making your own inline spinners and other wire forms, you'll see expensive!!!!!!!LOL
This winter I need to burn some feathers while learning to dye them different colors!!! The wife will love that one!!
