Well, lets see........I fish at least, uh....500 days a year. Yeah, and I always catch like two every single time(haters dont be jealous). So that's what, like 1200? Yep #11 for me, no doubt about it!
I fish 150 to 200 days a year and limits about 90 % so I guess I'm in the over a thousand section. Please don't hate us that fish alot.
I am glad I am not the only #1.
DP
I average more than a thousand, but my numbers have been slightly down this year and a few years prior to this year:Rofl. I know for a fact that Nimrod caught over 2000 above 10 inches last year. That is pretty fair numbers. I heard of someone else catching over 6000 last year. Folks, that is a buncha fish.
I stopped counting because so many peeps were telling fibs. And I done want to be like them. Several ice chest full and more than you would want to have to clean before it got dark. Some folks may have caught more than I did - but I will bet you ANYTHING! They didn't have more FUN! LMAO!

I will say on average 701-800 for me. Years like this my harvest is lower due to fishing new lakes. On normal years, I fish Reelfoot a lot and would push well over 1000 fish.
More than a 1000
I'm gonna do this for Crappie Pro. Of course this is estimated. Here's how I came up with the numbers.
Crappie.com join date was 2008. It is now 2013. That is 5 years. He has just used up all his picture storage. I figure he can get 20 fish per pic with 3 pics per megabyte x 200 megs total. This total is 12,000. Divide this by 5 years and put Crappie Pro on the more than 1k average fish per year. :biggrin
RCC, you must be an accountant to do some sip hearing like that!
Honestly plenty! Maybe 1 or 2. I will let billy tell ya how good they where come october 26th!
#5 on average
With the amount of fish caught, it makes me wonder how many fish are actually harvested from a given lake in a years time. Take Dardanelle, Grenada, Sardis or Enid. The number would have to be staggering.
I wonder how differnt the results would be if the question was about annual bass harvest.
When I answered, I gave the amount Carol and I catch together. My personal numbers would be much lower. I can't imagine how many crappie are pulled out of some of the premier lakes. I'm interested in finding out about Arkabutla. Some say it has been fished out because of the low water last year.
This is like the HIP registration the AGFC does. While your in line at sporting goods store buyin your annual permits they ask you how many geese and ducks you killed. Obviously, you want to sound cool so you say fifty to a hundred (I didnt but my buddies did). This is the single method utilized by the AGFC to determine annual waterfowl harvest in Arkansas.
That was not the intention of this survey. I was just curious how many crappie anglers harvest in a year. That is all. Just for fun. We utilize creel surveys and exploitation studies to determine how many or what percent of crappie are harvested on a given lake.
For what it's worth I gave an honest estimate. There have been years when I harvested more than #5 but also years that I've harvested way less (this year for sure). As far as bass harvest, in the mid/late 90s through about 2005 I just about kept 10 every time I went, and I went 2-3 times a week (before kids!). I mostly crappie fish now, but probably keep 50 - 60 smaller bass a year.
Cool question
In the past 12 months and to the best of my figuring I have fished 42 times and brought home right at 1400. That being said it was my best year ever and I always fish with 1 or 2 partners in the boat.
Ciphering is tough.
Over a 1000, and I give 95% of those to the bank fisherman, which are alot of elder men and women.
Nimrod are you ever gonna quit hating on us, I won't bring any more steaks :-)
Amen bro nimble, all you two polers ain't so bad eithe :-). I am dying to fish but the girls cornered me to take em all hunting for the doe season. Not sure when i will be able to fish again. Put em in the freezer for the next time! Hopefully i will get better on the grill by then. Keep in touch !
