Approximately 12 dozen for medium large, 16 dozen for medium small. That's what I saw on one bait dealer's website from AR.
All bets are off if you are talking about Lakeway medium minnows. The "mediums" I bought there Saturday were easily over twice the size of the #6 mediums I normally use. There, a pound works out to about seven dozen. I don't remember the price per pound. 12$-14$?
Last I saw at lakeway, they were $12 a pound
Wannabe...
yep i am sure it is his fault . and handi
12.84 at Lakeway and 12.50 at Bs grocery where you turn to go to Graysport. Got 7 or 8 doz still swimming in the cooler in the boat that need drowning that I bought last Wednesday, gonna help em out with their problem early in the morning.
Theirs a place on the Ten-Tom that charges 21-23 bucks per lb. just because they can.
About a dozen in a medium pound. Pillows in Paragould ar about 7 bucks a pound Rosie's are 8 goldfish are 3.50. If I can remember right. But that's pretty close.
Here is how shiners are graded in central Arkansas at the farms I frequent.
The size of the minnow is determined by the weight of 1000 minnows of that particular size.
Therefore: a small (#6) takes 1000 to make 6 pounds. One pound contains 14 dozen.
: a medium(#8) takes 1000 to make 8 pounds. One pound contains 10.5 dozen.
: a large (#12) takes 1000 to make 12 pounds. One pound contains 7 dozen.
Make sense?
Good info Flanger, thanks
I may need a minner truck to meet me at the ramp twice a day during the CM week. What would it cost? Hope the stores keep plenty on hand that week. Have been to too many tournaments where the local stores couldn't keep up with demand.
12 dozen or so
14 cents each in Vicksburg...one reason I learned a little about jig fishing last year.
At 14 cents each that comes to $1.68 per dozen. Hard to beat that.
Thanks, guys...............that's what I paid last week...12.00 a pound.
