Bluegill Bonanza
Went to a local pond today and fished redworms on the bottom in 4-8 fow. The bite was eratic but patience paid off. I took home 21 from 3 hours of fishing. Kept a few marginal gills because I gill hooked them and did not want them to go to waste. The 3 largest are just at 9 inches and really fat. This pond holds good numbers of fish but the algae is covering 3/4 of the water. Was tough fishing until the wind came up and moved most of it to one end of the 150 yd long pond. Here are a couple pics to show off the nice gills. http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps44eb3ac0.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/a...psc8f75cea.jpg

Looks like a fish fry in the near future for you!

Nice.Looks like you had a good bit of fun.

Congrats!
I had a similiar experience this evening. The gills started biting about 5:30pm and did not quit until 8:15pm. I must have caught over 30 of them and used up a whole carton of canadian nightcrawlers!

Nice.............some really good eating!

Now that's a great batch of gills there. Excellent job.

Fun to catch and excellent for the table, awesome catch.

I think ounce for ounce they fight as hard as any fish. Especially when they get into the moss and it adds another few pounds!

Nice catch.I agree with the fight too.We had moss problems for awhile at a local pond we fish, the good thing about the moss it kept you from getting jabbed by their fins and slimy hands.
