Anybody got any plans for this weekend? I'm considering either Moses Lake/Pot Holes or Silver Lake down in Castle Rock. Has anybody been to Silver since the new owners took over? It would be nice if a bunch of us could get together before winter sets in. Put some faces with the names......
i'm staying local and going to lake washington. i'm gonna try and make it down to silver before the end of the month. i just found out that my one 3 day weekend for the month of october........ the dawgs are playing oregon state.... and i got tickets! lets just say, we better win!!!!
Looks like I won't be fishing this weekend as I've got Pheasants to chase with the Brittany, but I am planning on getting to Silver this month as well. Looks like I'll be either at PotHoles or Moses on 11/3 as well.
dang lets just do a silver get together, with some BBQ, catch some crappie some bass and some cats...
that would be fun koke..... if we can all get there the same weekend :rolleyes:
and brokentrail, i think thats a great idea to go to the potholes around that time. last year i went for a day trip off the dock and caught about 30 crappie mostly over 9" and many to 10" (october 31).
I wouldn't be able to make it this weekend but I'm down for a get together as well.
I wanted to offer to take a few of you guys out to chase some big salmon in the rivers next month as well. Just bring a stout rod and a back brace :D. I'll supply the lures......and liquid body warmer http://www.websmileys.com/sm/drink/trink21.gif.
Sounds like a plan to me. Somebody toss some dates out and we can all get together and do Silver. I've got to work on the 14th and the 22nd. Other than that my schedule is open.
right now I am not working or going to school so I am free to fish whenever ck14 when is your three day weekend? ( I love thoes).

my 3 day weekend is next week....... but i'm going to the huskie game. i already missed the UCLA game so i'm not missing another one. i can probably go for a weekend after that though......

I was at silver this Sat. every one was fishing for the small main lake crappie. If I was going to silver I would not go for two more weeks. The crappie have not moved into the canals in big numbers YET. I would focus on the new moon! Also Watch out of the cops they are fishing for crappie and If you keep one under 9 inches or if you keep over 10 crappie a day they WILL stop acting like they are fishing and give you a BIG ticket! I hear tickets are going fast at silver lake!

I was hoping that you would chime in on this... I plan on fishing crappie but what I really want to do is get some of thoes bass, And I know Silver can be a little tough, so I was hopping for some pointers...
Docks and rocks worked for almost everyone and the top lures: Senko, Bandit crank bait and top water lures. Fish early the fog can clam down at first light and then good luck finding your fishing spots! Just do a LOT of run & gun. The more spots you hit the more bass (and bigger) you will get. One person in our group lost a bass over 5 pounds under 9 pound dock. The island was hot this weekend! Loat of bass got caught at silver this weekend.

The island was the only place we could consistantly find action for bass at silver (although we were fishing inthe middle of the day) - we hit em up with everything though, lizards, ikas, senkos, hulas, grubs, cuttails - pretty much everything seemed to work.
