Today I happened to be in the right place at the right time. MY local Wal mart marked down its swimming pool noodles to 25 cents each. So I bought 177 of them. I figure that will last me awhile

That's a great deal. I guess. A picture of that would be funny. Bet the clerk was shocked.
I will get a picture. the pickup bed is full of them. Several people asked me what I was going to do with so many noodles.
good deal! i've never even down any noodling and i'd probably have loaded my car up.
Your a man after my own heart. I use pool noodles all the time for something or other. In the pickup bed under my kayak, on my kayak trailer, on my
deer hauler handles. All kinds of things great to use pool noodles on. Congrats on a super deal.
Ok here is a picture. I hope it comes out.
Yes the clerk was suprised.

You must be gonna build fishing noodles to sell! I make 3 from one and some folks make 4. Just making 3 x 177 is 531 ! We can only use 20 per person here. I have about 100 and we seldom ever use them anymore. Lots of fun but don't have a use for the fish.
I will admit that it is way more than I will need for a long time. However I wanted to have some to give to friends that are interested in making their own. Plus I will have fun making some up and giving them away to friends. I doubt that I will fish with more than a couple of dozen at any given time.
Hey Charliee, how's about telling us how to make them? I always used 1 gal OJ containers but they sure are bulky and now that I'm downsizing my boat I could use the room.
I think you can google how to make the noodles or do a search on c.c
Here is how I make mine.
You need the following:
12" section of noodle
20" section of 3/4" PVC ( i use the cheaper thinwall)
2 3/4" PVC caps
4" piece of metal that will fit inside the pipe- 5/8 rebar works well or whatever you can scrap up
nylon dropline with hook and weight on it
Take your pipe and glue a cap on one end then slide it thru the noodle section alll the way until the cap is touching the side of the noodle. Insert your metal weight into the pipe and glue the other cap on. tie your dropline on the end of the pipe sticking out from the noodle. This way when a fish gets hooked and pulls the noodle will stand up.
You will need to maked and adjust your droplines for the proper depth of where you will be fishing. you can use a single or treble hook depending on the bait you will be using. As with other types of fishing, part of the fun is to exparement with different types of bait and riggings.
