.300 Mag, but any rifle will do the job if shot placement is spot on.
30-06,nosler partioned(sp) bullet , lights out when shot in head .:twocents
Aw heck...make it a little sporting and get yourself a big ole pistol!
Wannabe uglied three of em to death last year.
Couldn't eat em, they were tore up too bad
I mean it was like they exploded!!!!
Then spontaneously combusted!!!
Set the woods on fire
Burnt up 35 acres of good hard wood trees
MO don't have hogs...professional courtesy
Wannabe...
Dangit speck! I'm thinking my ar And a .40 in case one of dem sobs gets too close
Knife
AR 300 BlackOut or just about any round you like at the base of the ear.......Been using my .22 MAG over a feeder with the ear shot and doesn't spook them as bad as the other boom sticks......Pistols make it interesting but you better be able to hit what you are aiming for when they are that close and in the woods.....hard to hit the right spot when they are coming at you WAO
7.62x39 in my Ruger Mini 30.
I probably won't be able to get that close to em. I ain't never killed one and don't know how they respond to walking up on em and such. This may even be a job for my 30-06 at longer range. They're rooting in a milo field and some crp
Watched Aporkalypse 2013 the other night with PigMan and Uncle Ted... They used buckshot and .223 while heli-hunting... If u haven't seen it check it out..
You will probably have much better luck building an on site corral type trap. This way you can catch the entire herd at once. You can also bring a friend to help with the dispatching.
Don't kill em in the trap tho, you won't trap another there . Have to move em before killing them and legally this gets tricky.
I ain't trapping. This is gonna be a go kill a few every now and then deal. Farmer wants em gone like yesterday
Same here. I get a call, and I go. Work into the wind slowly. Stalk to within your comfort range. Good set of shooting sticks and cheapest bullets you can buy. Pop the biggest in the ear and reload quickly to try and hit a few more. They will come in and out of a field in the same area usually. Once you start shooting them, they may go nocturnal. That's when the expensive stuff comes into play, but I ain't got that stuff yet. You got to shoot them all no matter how small if you are gonna make a dent in them for that farmer. They can breed at 6 months.

No I wasn't there that morning, but was a few days later. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!
One of my clients hunts them with an AR equipped with nightvision scope.
if you are the only shooter you will have 1 chance to take out the hog the rest will leave the area in a hurry !!! and the wild hog is a very intelligent animal it will get wise to your doings and only come out to destroy at night !!! they are hard on farm land If the farmer is giving you rights to hunt take a few friends and take out as many as possible !!! they eat good!!!
No idea on that, just know that they have pay hunts. I want a Thermal Scope personally. Check this hog hunt out using thermal JAGER PRO
I think I have 5 people going! One with a shotgun
brotherman you got a bigger set then me !!! I shot a hog at 15 yards one day with 00 buck not once but twice and then the chase began he ran me out into a swamp !!! I want go after a hog with nothing but a rifle or a pistol 30 caliber and up !!! buckshot only going to make em mad !!!! if anything pop em with a slug !!!
Talked me into it!!! Haha
I like a bow or a 22 myself
but if clearing out a herd of em-a 30cal ar type can't be beat.
pistol--min. I like would be 10mm. Favorite would be 44mag then 45win mag then 454 casull (but that one kicks a bit much--not very pleasant)
