Has the topwater wiper bite improved any at Milford? Thinking about trying Milford this weekend>
Went out last evening to a few area's that I normally have good luck with and was unsuccesfull one of the spots it was the first time this summer that I didn't pull fish off of it. Donno what the deal is only thing I could think of is the higher water has moved them to other places. Others may be doing better but from were I was at it didn't look like it. Noticed people fishing the humps which I havent tried yet.
What is this fish y'all call a wiper. Any pix
The last time out we caught wipers. The wiper bite has been a frenzy at times but you do have to hunt them up. Will admit been catching them in traditionally not there usual areas. South island has been producing if you can do that type fishing.....I can't. I like to keep moving. I would think this weekend would be great for wipers. Water temp coming up quick.
hybred cross between white bass and striper
here's a LINK to a guide to identifying stripers, wipers, white bass, and white perch.
Just got back from a loooong personal trip. Going to get a line wet for the first time since late May. Hitting Milford 10/10 and 10/11. Hopefully I'll have something good to report. Never done the topwater thing but I'll keep my eyes open. Caught alot trolling but the topwater sounds like a blast. I guess Cabela's is getting hit this week. Hope to see some of you there, If you see an ugly old pontoon with the metal blown out of the front door that would be me.
