From what I've seen in the ag aviation world they just couldn't find one they could in any way possible adapt one from an automobile!

When I first started learning to fly many years ago we were required to learn how to hand prop, swing your leg just right for momentum, etc.. Had to do it several times. That's an ingenious way to do it right there.

I was just wondering what would happen if she popped before all that rope came unwound and caught a coil in prop.

I've hand proped a recip. No big deal. Sure ducker has too. It's part if school. But I like the way they do it. As long as it took to start, I don't think hand propping would do it.

It don't matter in a ag plane. Too close to the ground to try a relight anyway. Just hang on.
