I like it.
Is that a bead? A guy used to make some like that with a lead head I think they were 1/100oz or 1/80oz... I used to do really well on a solid white thread neck like that... Cool jig
It's not a bead and is lead head. Thanks!
great job on that one skip!! boy oh boy that really looks good. I made a little double cavity mold to make those things and still haven't gotten around to tweaking it yet as I didn't make the hook slots large enough in diameter, won't take long to fix it up though. you know those things would be just the ticket on a fly rod too. I like your chenille in that pic also, is that a custom blend of yours?
Good-looking stuff Skip I have some not that style•• they are more like a arrowhead but very small they may even be 100.
SWEET Tie Skip!!
nice work indeed. If you need someone to test it out, let me know.
BPS sells 1/80 and 1/100 jigs in the stores and online, but don't look anywhere near as nice these.
Looks like a casting jig for sure, guessing Id prob try it as a under slip cork scenario with a booger weight. Would fall too slow for me otherwise.
Or a troller if thats your thing. Dunno nada bout that'n.
Purty colors though. . Not a big fan of the bulky bodies but see a lot of people like em.
Cool jig.
Thanks guys, I appreciate that.
i have also been thinking about the fly rod thing. Also it's not a custom chenille, it's the only mixed color they make as one of standard colors. I am pretty sure they call this Rainbow. I have used this for a few years now and its really good in water that os pretty clear. The only thing different is I get bigger size than most use and this one is not my largest size, but enough for one this side.
Sure do like the looks of that Skip....
Sweet looking jig Skip :ThumbsUp
Thanks guys, I have a couple more of them to post soon. I am liking this little thing and may end up getting some with a little more weight, not much, but more to cover both fly fishing and long line trolling maybe. For sure under a cork would I think do well.
I love to fly – fish for panfish skip I have a couple of fly rods nothing expensive I ruined a $300 one won't make that mistake twice. even $300 sometimes is even cheap when you want and good quality fly rod I would love to get a medium action in about a 9 foot.
If my memory serves me right that is about what rod I have. It's a Cabella's rod and pretty nice. The first one I bought a few years back was a $20 all in rod, reel and fly line from Walmart. I had one as a kid, but I don't know what happened to it. Wish I still had that one.
Wait until you try some of the new graphite fly rods they are awesome but I tell you what there's nothing like a good old fiberglass from the good old days there was a certain feel that you could not be we used a fly rod for many years with monofilament line when I was fishing jigs it seems like I had more control on the action that I give the jigs I even fish for steelhead with a medium action that was quite a battle royal when you get a 10 pound steelhead on but I've caught many crappie and largemouth bass with using a fly rod I used it so much that we were going through the tip guide in one season in till we switched over to ceramic so you get what you pay for in a fly rod but I still wish I had some of my old fiberglass fly rods yet like you skip I don't know what happened to the one I had when I was a kid.
