After several minutes of detectivesque discussion, he said I have a severe case digititus, caused by constantly pushing buttons on the Humminbird 998c.
prescribed me to take a week off and get a fish finder that doesn't require constant noodling.
Then he handed me a coupon for a Lowrance hds 9 !

I bet that y'all didn't no that lowance has 360 also..or even that lowance could take stationary imaging.this is not true or sortof. With a little toy boat and some imagination yes you to can have 360. now I've got to warn you if you do this it will void your warranty. my 998 di not actually have a useable di, so the one I have now is actually useful
I can use either one of them fairly effectively. Not much difference IMO. I am still waiting on a sponsor. Only problem I have is my butt don't fit in those tiny standup bootie seats on those bass boats.

To say the 998 doesn't have a usable DI, is a grand exaggeration if there ever was one. There have been excellent pictures displayed here of H/B product DI images. If you had a problem getting good images, you should have spent more time learning to use the unit. I've said it before, I'd give Lowrance a slight advantage on crispness of images on the screen, but an H/B unit is much more user friendly. Pretty much plug and play, no extensive networks or power sources for accessories needed. no fumbling through confusing menus etc. Anyhoo, I want to catch fish not take pretty sonar pictures.Quote:
