A couple of months back I changed over all the bolts to knobs on my holders. These knobs have worked great so far. About $15 to change over the 6 bolts to knobs on a 4 pole holder.

Changed mine couple weeks ago love the knobs!!
Changed mine and works like a champ.
Save yourself some time and just buy the Cumberlands.
This thread isnt about who has the best product. To each their own on that. Ski trip sent me a pm and asked about the info. Thought I would post it for him and anyone else that might be interested. Not trying to start a debate but rather help out somebody who would rather have knobs instead of the bolts.
Thanks for the info Handicrappie, I got 6 sets of those hi tecs I may change to the knobs..
Looks good !!
Oh, I didn't realize that only certain people were allowed to respond to your post. I merely pointed out the obvious. All of you guys that are saying that HTs are better are the same ones that claim Cumberlands are knock-offs of HTs. The only difference would be the easy adjustability of the Cumberlands, and now you are modifying your HTs to do the same. I simply expressed my opinion. If that is not allowed, then please withold your own.

Thanks Handi! Might change ours out.
Thanks Handi!! Putting my order in now!
Thanks ive looked at several supply stores on the web and couldnt find the right size. Will be making a n order tomorrow.
Handi is just a trouble maker. How dare him post up good, useful, info.:Rofl
I found it down on the MS board a while back and saved it. I don't even have hi-teks, but this is good stuff.
Yep got mine changed and passed the info to several others. Good find handi
Just ordered me some.. Thanks for the info kenyon
Thanks Handi, good stuff:))
Lots of folks have and had Hi-teks way before Cumberland decided to copy their bar style and holder style. I do like the knob set up better myself but why in the world would anyone want to buy a whole new set of holders for a $100 when they can spend $15 and modify what they already have???? For your information I have a cumberland net holder and it has the knobs. The knobs I listed are the rubberized type and make the hard plastic knobs Cumberland uses look like crap. You might want some of the good knobs in the future also.
Can you get the knob on the horizontal bar tight enough to prevent it from turning? I have trouble with my 2 pole holder even tightening with wrench.
I'm suspecting Handi is on the mcmaster carr pro staff. :biggrin If he's no,t he should be. I know he's sold more knobs that their top knob salesman.
use the bar for leverage while turning/ tightening and torque the bar into place !!
hey trouble maker I said that already
Thanks to RCC and Handicrappie for passing this information about the knobs along to the rest of us. I have Hi-Tek rod holders and was looking for a way to avoid having to use a wrench. Fished with Crappie Greg a couple of weeks ago and he has Cumberland rod holders and I was impressed. He had replaced the plastic knobs with wing nuts and I had trouble getting the holders tight enough because of arthritis in my thumb and index finger. So I was looking for something bigger, like these knobs, to avoid having to keep up with a wrench to adjust the holders. Anyway, I think Cumberland rod holders are great, and I think Hi-Teks are great too. Since I already have the Hi-Teks, I think I'm gonna have the best of both worlds with the big knobs. Thanks again, Handi and RCC. Just ordered my big honkin' knobs!
Ok Handi, let me get this straight. Are you saying tek has better " knobs " now than cumberland. I am so confused. Thanks
Buy them where?
Thanks Handi!!!
I have been looking for knobs for some sound equipment I own. I should have known McMasters has them.
