I know it isnt a very good picture but it is a spoonbill that weighted about 50 pounds. I caught it at 5am Sunday morning on a pole I had set out on my pontoon boat.

I just spooled it with 10 lb Stren gold for crankin. Whats funny is I caught it on a leftover cooked sausage cindy and I had for dinner. She must have just had her mouth open going thru the water cause I hooked her in the corner of her mouth and they only eat plankton.
Oh yeah!! That had to be a blast to catch.
Those things are prehistoric looking creatures,caught one years ago on a jig on a miss river oxbow, nice!!!

Most folks who say Crappie, Walleye, flathead, bream are the best eating freshwater fish that swim...have not had a Spoonbill steak. They are flat delicious. Great Catch.
