s DNR Recreation Boating Renew Your Watercraft Registration Notice The Department of Natural Resources DID NOT send out watercraftrenewal notices this year. It is your responsibility to make sure that your watercraft registration is current.

Watercraft owners are able to renew their watercraft registrations by using a touch-tone telephone (1-866-867-3542) or the internet(Renew your registration online) . This convenient service operates 24/7. Allinformation supplied tothisservice regarding registration and credit card information is privacy protected.. A convenience fee will be added to the regular registration fee to offset the cost of the transaction. Before using this service, you need:

Illinois registration number and hull identification number (located on your registration card) pen and paper to record your confirmation number forms of payment includeVISA, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and E-Check.

$4 convenience fee for phone/internet renew.

Isn't that the truth! I heard from a local game warden that IL was not issuing commercial fishing license this year. They don't have any! Guess why? They did Not pay for the printing in 2012! LOL!!

Non-motorized watercraft such as canoes and kayaks now require a $6.00 annual "paddle pass". The paddle passes are purchased over the counter at a sporting good store or wal-mart type store that sells licenses. If you have previously registered your non-motorized watercraft, you can continue to register online at DNR. Don't know for sure , but a CPO told me it is a little cheaper to continue to register online if you had previously registered.

You have to have one of those paddle pass stickers on your tube if you want to float down the Kaskaskia river here at the Shelbyville, whats up with that.

That GW didn't know what's going on. The 2013 commercial licenses are out now, about 4 months late, but the 2012 will be good till October. Central Management Services (CMS), the most screwed up, political agency in state government has taken control of all printing-for every agency. They simply don't give a damn. That's also why the fishing booklets just came out, too. While a powerful agency, as they encompass personnel, they became the 800 lb gorilla under blago, taking control of all state computers, vehicles, contracts, etc.; basically they control everything having to do with doing business with the state of Illinois and who gets hired. The guv only has to go to one agency to get a list of everyone who is or wants to do business with the state. Gee, would the guv have the audacity to ask these people/businesses for a campaign contribution?:Rofl

It's been a few months ago when I was told that. A friend wanted to get one, and did not have one in 2012. That was the GW's answer. That did not surprise me at all. Anyone who has done subcontracting for IL know how fast they pay. Not!!

Whats even better is if you put a trolling motor on a canoe, it is now a powered watercraft so you have to have it titled and registered. However I don't always use the trolling motor so there will always be a question of if I am correct per the law in my opinion. Contacted the DNR, they said to register/title it, however I will have to talk to Mr./Mrs. Green Jeans during teal season (as I always see them then but never after) and find out what their take is. Good thing is we renewed our stickers last year so I should be good until '15.
