What Size & Type Jig Hook Do You Like For Crappie?

I like 1/16th oz jig heads with a bronze hook (I pour them myself) and for minnows, #1 in gold or bronze.
I do #2.
#2 for me too
#2 for 1/8oz and up and solid body jigs. #4 for 1/16th and under and smaller tube jigs. I like a wide gap and that varies depending on what type of jig I am using. I normally use a #4 Mr. Crappie aberdeen for minnows
1/0 matzue sickle with 1/16 and 1/8 oz
#2 LITEWIRE HOOKS from CDC member....Curtis
2 for me 2 1/16 head
#4 on 6 pound mono.
#6 on 4 pound mono.
Bare hook and a minnow.
#2 and 6 pound mono
!/8 oz # 2 Gold litewire hooks Unreal!!! in a Crappie Magnet Doublecross jighead!!! Unreal what you can do with this head Crappie magnet Doublecross jighead!! The sky is the limit works on solid plastic's,tubes!!!! Inside the tube or outside Unreal!!!
#2 Litewirehook is my all time favorite. Not been posting much lately....been in shop trying to get ahead so I can fish in the fall. Making 1/8 this week.....hope to have couple thousand ready by end of this weekend.
Litewirehooker couple thousand not enough all my friends, jig buyers and jig makers will be ordering them great product!!!
I like size 4 sickles in black, with size 2 a close second. I generally prefer 1/16th, but will use 1/32 when the bite is slow and up to 1/4 when vertical jigging.
Caught my personal best (a black almost 15.5") on a 1/32 with a size 10 aberdeen hook while fishing for bluegill, though. Hooked it right in the button at the edge of the fish's top lip.
#2 and #4 black/red sickle (If they get their QC under control) - 1/16th or 1/32nd.
I am a bit different than most because in summer I still jig fish, but I do add a minnow. I tie a Gamakatsu Drop Shot (finesse) type hook with a Palomar knot with a very long tag line. After that #1 or #2 hook I pass the tag line back through the eye of the hook one last time so when I pull on the line that hook stands up right. Then I tie on a jig, usually a 1/8 or 1/4 oz.
i do mostly use a #4 Sickle hook on he jig.
1/16 and 1/8 jigheads with a #2 Matzuo sickle in red or gold.
1/0 sickle 1/8 oz or 1/4 oz if using a jig (just depends on the water)
:fish Looks like the 1/16 is ahead!
1/0 0n a 1/8 oz ans 2/0 on a 1/4 oz . Both red sickle.
2/0 red sickle on 1/8oz rr head crappie hunter body and a 3in minnow.
I seem to catch a lot more crappie with a UL rig! I use a UL spin with 2 lb NanoFil line (.002 diameter) thinnest line in the world now! Like spider thread? The line won't break, I've caught 10 lb catfish with that 2 lb line!
I use a 1/64 oz live bait (barbless) jig head in white, chartreuse, pink, or black. Then I tie on and super glue a half of a staple (small size) with a bend at the end. This tiny bend holds a soft plastic (or Gulp Alive) on my jig.
Look close at this pic and you can see the tiny barb:

That's Cool! :HandsClapping
Only jig fish year around and use #6 or #4 sickle hooks in 1/32 oz and #2 or#4 sickle in 1/16 oz heads, all barbless heads for the solid body plastics I make. Love the 1 1/2" baits.
#2 for minnows and 1/16oz #2 for casting jigs
#4 bronze cycle 1/16oz.
normally 1/16 jig head unless trolling shallow then 1/32 (so can get jig farther from the boat) minnow 1/0
#2 214EL Eagle Claw
I usually use 1/32 or 1/64oz jigheads, gold bronze or red hooks in size 6 8 or 10.I used unpainted heads for the longest time but now I paint them for tying(kiptail) and had a bunch painted for using with plastics but seldom use them. I also use sickle and regular hooks(Eagle Claw,Mustad).I also mold my own.
I use 1/16 or 3/32 that I poor and tie myself, with a # 2 hook. I use a regular 570/575 or a lite wire from Curtis Hobbs on the Ga board.
#2 circle hook has been my go to hook the last 4 or 5 yrs and dont see changing it anytime soon.
