Gills from The Hollow
Here are a couple of pics of some of the larger 'gills Gordo and I caught on Dale Hollow. The large ones seem to be in about 15 to 20 ft of water. Bait was large meal worms and we also caught some with jigs and crappie nibbles. The bite seemed best after 4 PM until dark. After that, the kentuckies seemed to rule.

Very nice gills.
Dale is on the border of KY/TN.
This report comes at a good time. I have a vacation in two weeks, and my dad has a cabin on DH. I'll try your bait and location tactics. What part of the lake were you on? Closest ramp to me is Cove Creek, but I can put in very near Shear Pin if the water is right.

Montagc,
We were down close to the dam....but any good deep cove should work this time of year. Good Luck !
PM me when you go down...and perhaps we could meet at a good spot !

Tnvol, if it were just me, I'd take ya up on that! Thing is, my wife is weird about meeting Internet people, especially when the kids are with us. I often get together with a group of guys and fish the tailwaters, you ever do that?
Thanks for the tips. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post when I get back.
