why not a set of rod holders that turn 90 degrees and serve as transport racks? looks doable to me. I think the usual setup is in the way. Must be some reason.

Make a set and see how they work. If they work good, corner the market with them.
Sounds like an idea, with the "new to me rig" I am not using one, just putting my rods in he storage area.
if it was carpet I could do it, but it's not. But I don't see why some spiderloks wouldn't do it. maybe even my driftmasters. Think I'll see.
Mine are not in the way....low profile....can fish out of the rod holders right over them....have three stands on the transport racks for good support and nothing hangs out over the boat. Mine are the old style that EZ used to make. Attachment 130696Attachment 130697
It's very doable but not practical.Alot of people carry extra rods.To me i wouldn't want them sitting up that high,but i guess they could be adjustable.I made my transport racks down low and made sure they were inside the boat,because i may decide to jig fish and that makes it easier for me.Good luck

Because your rod holders are not normally postioned where they would function correctly as transport racks. There are odd occassions where they do but most often not the case. And like another said, even when I am fishing, I have extra rods in the transport rack. Some folks do, some folks dont.Quote:
